Written in the form of a dialogue between Kretschmar, an entrepreneur, and Hamburger, a psychoanalyst, the book provides unique insight into psychodynamic coaching and supervision. Psychodynamic Coaching and Supervision for Executives begins with an overview of coaching, psychodynamic approaches, the unconscious and relevant psychoanalytic theory. Kretschmar and Hamburger then consider Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnosis (OPD) in business, assess current research into coaching and supervision and present a selection of key case studies. At the end of each chapter, the authors compare their positions, giving important contextual information, exploring objections, complications and improvements, and providing a precise summary of the topic. This book will be an illuminating guide for therapists and professionals who wish to learn how psychoanalytic theory and practice can be used for coaching, counseling and supervision in an organizational context.

The Pragmatics of Executive Coaching is the first linguistic monograph on executive coaching, a recent, not fully professionalized, yet booming helping professional format in the organizational realm. The book is positioned at the interface between applied linguistic analysis and the activity of coaching, coupled with its structuring professional theory. It presents the Basic Activity Model of coaching, a model for the qualitative analysis and description of the discursive co-construction of coaching by coach and client within and across individual coaching sessions and whole processes. The analysis is based on 150 hours of authentic data from the coaching approach Emotionally Intelligent Coaching and presents coaching as hybrid and interdiscursive helping professional format. The gained insights into the discursive layout of coaching interactions advance our linguistic understanding of helping professions as such, contribute to the theoretical and methodological underpinning of coaching and help promote the coaching practice.

The speed and complexity of change in business practice has never been greater than today. Navigating this “new and lasting norm” requires for any organization, besides other factors, two principal elements: Managers and leaders who are capable of coaching their team members as well as a new type of workforce that can quickly adapt to changing environments, can acquire new skills necessary to be successful in the future, and is willing and capable of stepping up to take over responsibility. The book argues that internal coaching is an excellent tool to onboard, integrate, and develop (new) employees. Successful coaching will result in higher job satisfaction (for both coach and coachee), better work and business results, and superior retention levels: A long-term win for both the organization, its employees, and customers. Based on extensive interviews with both tenured leaders and new employees, focus groups with learning & development experts, and a comprehensive literature research as well as the author ́s own in-depth coaching knowledge and expertise, this book proposes an academically researched, developed, and validated model of eight dimensions of successful coaching as well as a five-step implementation plan which can be used as an impactful framework to embed coaching skills in organizational settings to create a sustainable and growth-generating coaching culture.

Ego Development For Effective Coaching And Consulting written by Thomas Binder and has been published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-06-12 with Psychology categories.

Both in research and in practice, a number of basic competencies are considered necessary for successful process-oriented coaching and consulting activities. In the present research work, the extent to which these necessary competencies are related to vertical personality development was investigated. Loevinger's model of ego development, a stage theory of development, provides the frame of reference for this study. This paper fully summarizes the current state of research on the model in order to comprehensively analyze possible relationships with coaching and consulting competencies. As a first step, the competency requirements of selected coaching and consulting associations were analyzed to determine whether they are related to ego development and whether they express minimum requirements for ego development. The analysis revealed that the competency requirements of all associations show clear parallels to aspects of ego development. The majority of these requirements point to a fully developed, self-governed stage (E6) of ego development as a prerequisite for process-oriented coaching and consulting services. In a second step, empirical studies were examined to systematically analyze the relationship between ego development and aspects relevant to coaching and consulting. The results of the current empirical studies show a clear correlation between these competencies and ego development. This means that as ego development increases, higher coaching and consulting competencies become more likely. Many studies also indicate that a fully developed, self-governed stage of ego development can be expected as the basis for consistent work at an intermediate level of competence.

In a rapidly moving world where so many of our day-to-day activities are now online, it has become essential to adapt coaching processes in order to better suit clients’ circumstances and needs. Above all, clients want sustainable and time-efficient results. Electronic coaching (e-coaching) is an inevitable development for every professional who coaches, mentors, teaches, supervises, guides or helps people in their jobs. The book is underpinned by a theoretical framework that introduces a new model of people development (the ABC model), inspired by Graham Alexander’s GROW model, and a new text-based coaching method inspired by Brown and Levinson’s politeness theory. E-coaching is practical in its approach, with explanations on safeguarding the security and privacy of your clients, how to calculate rates, managing expectations and other important aspects of coaching online. The first English-language text available on e-coaching, this book presents a unique combined approach of method and technique, supplemented with a sample e-coaching programme. It is a must-read for all coaches, mentors, supervisors, teachers or HR professionals who want to coach in a modern way, as well as students studying on coaching courses.
