Zum einen erfährt die Welt aktuell strukturelle Veränderungen. Die Nato wird in Europa weiter in Richtung Osten und Norden erweitert. Aktuell steht Schweden auf der Agenda. Schweden zählt zu den Ländern mit den größten Goldreserven in der Welt. Eine unmittelbare Folge der NATO-Osterweiterung sind die militärischen Auseinandersetzungen in der Ukraine. Es ist also nicht verwunderlich, wenn das Gerücht um eine - möglicherweise Yuan-gestützte - neue Leitwährung angeheizt wird. Hinzu kommt der offensichtlich erfolglose Besuch des amerikanischen Außenministers Blinken in China. Unmittelbar darauf sank der Börsenwert des US-Dollars um etliche Punkte. China hält immense Dollarreserven auf Grund seines Exportüberschusses. Jedoch ist die globale Wirtschaft ist ein vielseitiges Netzwerk, das von verschiedenen Akteuren und Umständen beeinflusst wird. In den letzten Jahrzehnten hat die Dominanz des US-Dollars als Weltreservewährung eine wichtige Rolle gespielt. Der Dollar hat die internationale Handelslandschaft über viele Jahrzehnte geprägt und die geopolitischen Beziehungen maßgeblich beeinflusst. Doch in den letzten Jahren sind neue Mächte aufgestiegen und haben den Status quo herausgefordert. Die BRICS-Staaten haben eine zunehmende wirtschaftliche Bedeutung erlangt und drängen auf eine Reform des internationalen Finanzsystems. Mein Buch "Der US-Dollar und die BRICS-Herausforderung" will den Lesern die Geschichte der Dollar-Vorherrschaft und die aufstrebenden BRICS-Staaten, als mögliches Gegengewicht, näher bringen. Es will als ein Versuch angesehen werden, die aktuellen Vorgänge in der Welt beleuchten und helfen so die gegenwärtigen Umwältzungen und Umstrukturierungen besser zu verstehen. Das Buch beleuchtet die Hintergründe, die zu den Machtkämpfen dieser Zeit geführt haben, und es wirft einen Blick in eine mögliche Zukunft, um die Auswirkungen auf die globale Wirtschaft zu analysieren. Dabei werden die verschiedenen Aspekte der Thematik beleuchtet, angefangen bei den historischen Ereignissen, die zur Entstehung der Dollar-Dominanz führten, bis hin zu den aktuellen Bemühungen der BRICS-Staaten, sich dieser Vorherrschaft zu entziehen und ihre eigene Position zu stärken. Wir werden die Wurzeln der Dollar-Vorherrschaft untersuchen. Von der Bretton-Woods-Konferenz im Jahr 1944 bis zur Aufhebung der Goldbindung im Jahr 1971 werden die entscheidenden Meilensteine auf dem Weg zur weltweiten Akzeptanz des Dollars als Leitwährung behandelt. Dabei wird auch die Rolle der Vereinigten Staaten als Supermacht und ihr wirtschaftliches und politisches Interesse an der Aufrechterhaltung der Dollarherrschaft hinterfragt. Ein weiterer Teil des Buches widmet sich den BRICS-Staaten und ihrem Aufstieg als wirtschaftliche Schwergewichte. Jedes Land wird als Einzelnes betrachtet, um seine spezifischen wirtschaftlichen, politischen und sozialen Entwicklungen zu analysieren. Alle fünf Länder haben unterschiedliche Herausforderungen und Chancen, aber alle streben danach, ihre eigene Stimme in der globalen Wirtschaftsordnung zu haben. Ebenso werden ihre Bemühungen, alternative Währungs- und Finanzstrukturen aufzubauen, werden detailliert untersucht.

Darüber hinaus treten anlässlich des oben genannten BRICS-Gipfels weitere Erdöl-fördernde Länder dem BRICS-Verbund bei. Darunter Länder wie Argentinien, Ägypten, Äthiopien, Iran, Saudi-Arabien sowie die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate. Diese Länder planen ihr Erdöl in anderen Währungen als dem Petro-Dollar zu handeln. Was eine weitere Schwächung des US-Dollar nach sich ziehen würde. Es ist also nicht verwunderlich, wenn das Gerücht um eine - möglicherweise Yuan-basierte - neue Leitwährung angeheizt wird. Danach besuchte der ehemalige US-Außenminister Henry Kissinger China, offiziell privat und ohne jeglichen diplomatischen Auftrag. Der inzwischen 100-jährige Henry Kissinger wird in China sehr respektiert, hauptsächlich aufgrund seiner Rolle bei der Normalisierung der Beziehungen zwischen den Vereinigten Staaten und der Volksrepublik China in den 1970er Jahren. Als damaliger US-Außenminister spielte er eine entscheidende Rolle in den geheimen Verhandlungen mit dem chinesischen Führer Zhou Enlai. The upcoming BRICS summit is just around the corner. The five BRICS nations are reportedly planning their own gold-based reserve currency. This rumor gains traction due to several events. Firstly, the world is currently undergoing structural changes. NATO's expansion towards the east and north in Europe continues, with Sweden currently on the agenda. Sweden boasts one of the largest gold reserves globally. An immediate consequence of NATO's eastward expansion is the military conflicts in Ukraine. Russia has been excluded from the SWIFT system. This exclusion means that Russian banks can no longer directly communicate with other international banks for cross-border transactions. Without access to the SWIFT network, Russia is cut off from most international payment and settlement systems. This could complicate trade with other countries and impact economic relationships. Such isolation could destabilize Russian financial markets and erode investor confidence. The exclusion from the SWIFT system is a serious measure and is to be understood as a political leverage. Thus, it's not surprising that the rumor about a potentially Yuan-backed new reserve currency is gaining momentum. Additionally, the evidently unsuccessful visit of American Secretary of State Blinken to China resulted in a sharp drop in the US dollar's value. China holds massive dollar reserves due to its trade surplus. However, the global economy is a complex network influenced by various actors and circumstances. In recent decades, the dominance of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency has played a significant role. The dollar has shaped the international trade landscape for many decades and profoundly influenced geopolitical relations. Yet, in recent years, new powers have risen, challenging the status quo. The BRICS nations - Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa - have gained increasing economic importance and are pushing for a reform of the international financial system. My book, "The US Dollar and the BRICS Challenge," aims to bring readers closer to the history of dollar dominance and the emerging BRICS nations as potential counterbalances. It should be seen as an attempt to shed light on current events in the world and help better understand ongoing upheavals and restructuring. The book delves into the backgrounds that have led to the power struggles of our time and offers insights into a possible future, analyzing the implications for the global economy. The various aspects of the topic are explored, starting from the historical events that led to the emergence of dollar dominance, all the way to the current efforts of the BRICS nations to break free from this dominance and strengthen their own positions. We will examine the roots of dollar dominance, covering key milestones from the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference to the abandonment of the gold standard in 1971. The crucial role of the United States as a superpower and its economic and political interests in maintaining dollar dominance will also be scrutinized. This book examines the extent to which a space has opened up in recent years for the so-called "rising powers" of the global South to offer an alternative to contemporary global economic and political governance through emergent forms of South-South cooperation. In contrast to the Third Worldism of the past, the contemporary rising powers share in common the fact that their recent growth owes much to their extensive and increasingly international engagement, rather than partial withdrawal from the global economy. However, they are nonetheless openly critical of the perceived bias towards the global North in the dominant institutions of global governance, and seek to alter the global status quo to enhance the influence of the global South.
