Continuando la línea instaurada por «Derecho y religión" (Edisofer, 2020), este volumen persigue reflejar la visión que ofrecen los medios de comunicación de cada uno los temas que, tradicionalmente, componen los programas docentes del Derecho Eclesiástico del Estado, sin olvidar aquellos nuevos que han ido adquiriendo protagonismo en la actual sociedad multirreligiosa en la que vivimos y a los que el Derecho debe dar respuesta. -- Para ello, los autores han seleccionado y consignado en los diferentes capítulos distintas notas de prensa relacionadas no sólo con las materias habituales de la disciplina, también con otros aspectos como el hecho religioso en el deporte, las prescripciones alimentarias religiosas, las conexiones religión-seguridad pública y religión-seguridad vial, el bioderecho, los delitos de odio, la extranjería o inmigración religiosa y el impacto de la simbología en el espacio público. Este enfoque práctico, dirigido fundamentalmente al alumnado, se completa con la incorporación de una serie de cuestiones a responder, con el objetivo de dotar al estudiante de un mayor nivel de conocimiento en los contenidos y, en definitiva, una formación integral en la mencionada disciplina. Se persigue demostrar la vitalidad del derecho fundamental de libertad religiosa como un elemento dinámico y muy presente en la sociedad española, combinando la atención sobre esta materia en los medios de comunicación con la práctica forense para su análisis jurídico en la formación de juristas en las Facultades de Derecho. -- En esencia, "Derecho y religión en los medios de comunicación", constituye un instrumento novedoso, una nueva manera de afrontar la enseñanza del Derecho Eclesiástico del Estado pues, ofrece una visión completa, innovadora y eminentemente práctica del tratamiento mediático que recibe el ejercicio del derecho fundamental de libertad religiosa en el espacio público y en sus diferentes manifestaciones, tanto de carácter individual como colectivo.
