O armário é uma metáfora bastante eficiente para explicar o processo de apagamento, restrição de circulação, exclusão social de temáticas, de corpos e identidades LGBTQIA+ em nossa sociedade. Nesta obra, o que se pretendeu foi a realização de uma leitura "fora do armário" de um dos mais significativos poetas das Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa no fim do Século XX: Luís Miguel Nava. Por meio de confrontos de leituras de aquém e de além-mar, buscou-se revelar como a crítica literária especializada, sistematicamente apagou ou simplesmente ignorou, sob o pretexto de "uma escolha de leitura", imagens do desejo homoerótico, bastante explícitas, nos poemas de Nava. Poder-se-ia pensar que as restrições viriam de práticas já consolidadas em Portugal, no entanto, quando a recepção dessa obra se volta para o macrossistema das Literaturas de Língua Portuguesa, o que se observa é o pânico homossocial se espraiando e silenciando "os amores que não ousam dizer o seu nome" também por outros espaços nos quais as poesias do poeta português circularam. Por isso, o principal objetivo deste livro é contribuir para o estabelecimento de uma crítica literária "fora do armário", que reconhece o papel da política das identidades e das representações nos jogos sociais, desvelando alguns dos tabus sobre a homossexualidade que ainda permeiam nossa sociedade.

Estudos em narrativas cabo-verdianas contemporâneas tem por objetivo principal a discussão da economia de afetos e desejos na literatura e na sociedade cabo-verdiana ao longo das duas primeiras décadas do Século XXI. O interesse por Cabo Verde e sua literatura decorre da complexidade do país cuja população se distribui, de modo equivalente, entre os habitantes de oito das dez ilhas dispersas na costa oeste da África e entre os cabo-verdianos que vivem na diáspora. Published in 1888, O Ateneu is a classic of Brazilian literature. It stands as one of the best examples of the Realist/Naturalist mode of fiction flourishing at the time (following the lead of French literature), but the novel’s first-person narration and satirical edge make it a more complex work. These features also distinguish it from the then-popular “school” novel. As the narrator recounts his humiliating experiences as a student, it becomes clear that his school is structured and administered so as to reproduce the class divisions and power structure of the larger society. At the same time, Pompéia maintains the novel’s credibility as a bildungsroman by portraying the narrator’s psychological development. The novel’s conclusion at once suggests both a doomed society and its possible redemption, indicative of a moment of upheaval and transition in Brazilian history.
