Handbook Of Fpga Design Security written by Ted Huffmire and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2010-06-18 with Technology & Engineering categories.

The purpose of this book is to provide a practical approach to managing security in FPGA designs for researchers and practitioners in the electronic design automation (EDA) and FPGA communities, including corporations, industrial and government research labs, and academics. This book combines theoretical underpinnings with a practical design approach and worked examples for combating real world threats. To address the spectrum of lifecycle and operational threats against FPGA systems, a holistic view of FPGA security is presented, from formal top level speci?cation to low level policy enforcement mechanisms, which integrates recent advances in the ?elds of computer security theory, languages, compilers, and hardware. The net effect is a diverse set of static and runtime techniques that, working in coope- tion, facilitate the composition of robust, dependable, and trustworthy systems using commodity components. We wish to acknowledge the many people who helped us ensure the success of ourworkonrecon?gurablehardwaresecurity.Inparticular, wewishtothankAndrei Paun and Jason Smith of Louisiana Tech University for providing us with a Lin- compatible version of Grail+. Cyber-attacks continue to rise as more individuals rely on storing personal information on networks. Even though these networks are continuously checked and secured, cybercriminals find new strategies to break through these protections. Thus, advanced security systems, rather than simple security patches, need to be designed and developed. Exploring Security in Software Architecture and Design is an essential reference source that discusses the development of security-aware software systems that are built into every phase of the software architecture. Featuring research on topics such as migration techniques, service-based software, and building security, this book is ideally designed for computer and software engineers, ICT specialists, researchers, academicians, and field experts.

Integrating A Usable Security Protocol Into User Authentication Services Design Process written by Christina Braz and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2018-11-08 with Computers categories.

There is an intrinsic conflict between creating secure systems and usable systems. But usability and security can be made synergistic by providing requirements and design tools with specific usable security principles earlier in the requirements and design phase. In certain situations, it is possible to increase usability and security by revisiting design decisions made in the past; in others, to align security and usability by changing the regulatory environment in which the computers operate. This book addresses creation of a usable security protocol for user authentication as a natural outcome of the requirements and design phase of the authentication method development life cycle.

This book presents state-of-the-art research results from leading electronic design automation (EDA) researchers on automated approaches for generating cyber-secure, smart hardware. The authors first provide brief background on high-level synthesis principles and motivate the need for secure design during behavioral synthesis. Then they provide readers with synthesis techniques for six automated security solutions, namely, hardware obfuscation, hardware Trojan detection, IP watermarking, state encoding, side channel attack resistance, and information flow tracking. Provides a single-source reference to behavioral synthesis for hardware security; Describes automatic synthesis techniques for algorithmic obfuscation, using code transformations; Includes behavioral synthesis techniques for intellectual property protection.

Aspect Oriented Security Hardening Of Uml Design Models written by Djedjiga Mouheb and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-04-22 with Computers categories.

This book comprehensively presents a novel approach to the systematic security hardening of software design models expressed in the standard UML language. It combines model-driven engineering and the aspect-oriented paradigm to integrate security practices into the early phases of the software development process. To this end, a UML profile has been developed for the specification of security hardening aspects on UML diagrams. In addition, a weaving framework, with the underlying theoretical foundations, has been designed for the systematic injection of security aspects into UML models. The work is organized as follows: chapter 1 presents an introduction to software security, model-driven engineering, UML and aspect-oriented technologies. Chapters 2 and 3 provide an overview of UML language and the main concepts of aspect-oriented modeling (AOM) respectively. Chapter 4 explores the area of model-driven architecture with a focus on model transformations. The main approaches that are adopted in the literature for security specification and hardening are presented in chapter 5. After these more general presentations, chapter 6 introduces the AOM profile for security aspects specification. Afterwards, chapter 7 details the design and the implementation of the security weaving framework, including several real-life case studies to illustrate its applicability. Chapter 8 elaborates an operational semantics for the matching/weaving processes in activity diagrams, while chapters 9 and 10 present a denotational semantics for aspect matching and weaving in executable models following a continuation-passing style. Finally, a summary and evaluation of the work presented are provided in chapter 11. The book will benefit researchers in academia and industry as well as students interested in learning about recent research advances in the field of software security engineering.

Security By Design written by Manjari Khanna Kapoor and has been published by Taylor & Francis this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2023-12-12 with Architecture categories.

This is a book about the intersection of architecture and security, about effective crime prevention and counterterror using the built form. While security professionals continue their strive towards alleviating our fear of crimes, and whilst methodologies like CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) have demonstrated the impact of design on prevention of crime over the last five decades, too many built environment professionals are not aware of these strategies. This book starts with the premise that there is a huge role for the design fraternity (namely architects and planners) in achieving realistic, efficient and permanent results, and ultimately in creating a safer world. It seeks to present such strategies in a palatable way and encourage professionals to incorporate security thinking into their design process as second nature. Combining international case studies including One World Trade Centre, New York; WHO Headquarters Extension Building, Geneva; and the Akshardham Temple, New Delhi, along with numerous examples from the author’s professional career, this book offers a systematic approach to integrating security into built environment design for easy adoption by architects, planners, security professionals and policymakers.
