Vor 175 Jahren schrieb Hoffmann von Fallersleben auf Helgoland das Deutschlandlied - heute die deutsche Nationalhymne. Die Bonner Republik hatte zunächst keine eigene Hymne. Ob bei Staatsbesuchen oder internationalen Fuballspielen, die Hymne reprasentiert uns zusammen mit der Deutschlandflagge im Ausland und wird bei offentlichen Veranstaltungen der Bundesrepublik gespielt. 87 Jahre nach der ersten offiziellen Ernennung zur deutschen Nationalhymne ist das "Deutschlandlied" bekannter als je zuvor. Vor allem die Fuball-Weltmeisterschaft 2006 im eigenen Land hat ihren Teil dazu beigetragen. Plotzlich war die Hymne prasent: In Stadien, auf Straen, in Kneipen - uberall war "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" zu horen. Selbst Fan-Schals und T-Shirts wurden mit dem historischen Text bedruckt und verkauften sich. Und das trotz der langen und bewegten Geschichte, die unsere Hymne hinter sich hat. Kaum ein Lied hat so lange Zeit uberlebt wie das "Lied der Deutschen," kaum ein anderes hat so viel mitgemacht: Mal war es verboten, mal war es erlaubt und mal hat es aus Verunsicherung niemand gesungen. Was das "Deutschlandlied" in der 168-jahrigen Geschichte mitgemacht hat, wie es entstand und wie es schlielich zur Hymne der Bundesrepublik Deutschland wurde. Damit beschaftigt sich diese Seminararbeit.
