Publicado por la editorial Artezblai y coordinado por Gabriele Sofia, Diálogos entre Teatro y Neurociencias’ recoge una selección de intervenciones realizadas en los congresos organizado por la Sapieza Universitá di Roma A comienzos de los años noventa, un grupo de científicos de la Universidad de Parma, encabezados por Giacomo Rizzolatti, descubrieron de forma casual mientras experimentaban con monos el sistema de neuronas espejo’, localizando finalmente un espacio en el que la percepción de una acción y su propia ejecución, coinciden. Mucho ha dado que hablar aquel descubrimiento, al abrir infinidad de vías de exploración a diferentes niveles, entre ellos el arte y más concretamente las Artes Escénicas. Y es que no es casualidad que el propio Peter Brook haya dicho que, hoy en día, los neurocientíficos están empezando a entender lo que el teatro ha sabido desde siempre. Desde hace dos años la Sapienza Università di Roma viene realizando un congreso anual que explora este campo de investigación artística, en unas jornadas denominadas Diálogos entre Teatro y Neurociencias’ con la intervención de investigadores científicos y teatrales. La Editorial Artezblai ha publicado ahora una selección de las intervenciones más destacadas en esas dos primeras ediciones, que incluye, desde la intervención de Jean-Marie Pradier, quien ya organizó en Polonia, en 1979, el “Congreso sobre los aspectos científicos del teatro”, al testimonio del director-pedagogo John Schranz quien, junto a Ingemar Lindh, inició en los años 90 una colaboración sistemática con el neurocientífico Richard Muscat. O también está la intervención de Horacio Czertok, director y actor argentino que continúa, ya desde hace más de 20 años, sus investigaciones acerca de las potencialidades terapéuticas de la actividad teatral. Son intervenciones que se alternan con las de los neurocientíficos Giovanni Mirabella y Sergio Paradiso, ambos interesados en los estudios neurofisiológicos centrados en la interacción social y en la facultad de “compartir” acciones y emociones del ser humano. Enmarcan esta experiencia los artículos de Clelia Falletti y Luciano Mariti, ambos profesores de la Sapienza Università di Roma, que apoyaron y promovieron el proyecto desde el inicio, gracias a la consonancia y continuidad que éste tiene con sus estudios interdisciplinarios sobre teatro y ciencia, así como Gabriele Sofia, coordinador de los congresos Diálogos entre Teatro y Neurociencias’. Es por lo tanto un libro que nos marca uno de los múltiples caminos que van a seguir las artes escénicas en un futuro tan tecnificado, en donde los lenguajes se superponen, pero que al final todos deben ser reconvertidos al común a través de las conexiones cerebrales, neuronales. Es decir, la ciencia interesada en el arte, es una de esas necesidades que aquí se convierte en realidad. Simplemente nos puede colocar ante algunas conclusiones científicas, empíricas, que no aclaran el magnífico misterio de la creación artística, de la inspiración o de la comunicación a través del canto, el silencio, el gesto o la textualidad, pero que aporta esos componentes necesarios para colocarnos ante una circunstancia en la que nos provoque seguir conociendo, con preguntas que deben contestarse en un futuro.

Movie trailers—those previews of coming attractions before the start of a feature film—are routinely praised and reviled by moviegoers and film critics alike: "They give away too much of the movie." "They're better than the films." "They only show the spectacular parts." "They lie." "They're the best part of going to the movies." But whether you love them or hate them, trailers always serve their purpose of offering free samples of a film to influence moviegoing decision-making. Indeed, with their inclusion on videotapes, DVDs, and on the Internet, trailers are more widely seen and influential now than at any time in their history. Starting from the premise that movie trailers can be considered a film genre, this pioneering book explores the genre's conventions and offers a primer for reading the rhetoric of movie trailers. Lisa Kernan identifies three principal rhetorical strategies that structure trailers: appeals to audience interest in film genres, stories, and/or stars. She also analyzes the trailers for twenty-seven popular Hollywood films from the classical, transitional, and contemporary eras, exploring what the rhetorical appeals within these trailers reveal about Hollywood's changing conceptions of the moviegoing audience. Kernan argues that movie trailers constitute a long-standing hybrid of advertising and cinema and, as such, are precursors to today's heavily commercialized cultural forms in which art and marketing become increasingly indistinguishable.
