The human musculoskeletal system enables humans to move with the help of their skeletal and muscular systems. It consists of joints, ligaments, nerves, muscles, tendons and the structures that support limbs, back and neck. Any injury or pain in the human musculoskeletal system is known as a musculoskeletal disorder. Sudden exertion or continuous repetitive motion that exposes the musculoskeletal system to repeated force, vibration and uncomfortable postures can lead to these disorders. Different body parts such as upper and lower back, shoulders, necks, arms, hands, legs and feet are affected by the disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Some of the common musculoskeletal disorders are tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain, epicondylitis and tension neck syndrome. This book unravels the recent studies in the field of musculoskeletal disorders. It also elucidates some of the vital pieces of work conducted across the world, on various topics related this field. The book, with its detailed analyses and data, will prove immensely beneficial to professionals and students involved in this area at various levels.

Musculoskeletal Injuries and Conditions: Assessment and Management is a practical guide to diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions in clinical practice. The book is organized by anatomic region, from neck to toe, and written in outline format. Each chapter concisely presents the basic knowledge that every practitioner needs to have at the ready in the outpatient clinical context. The Social Security Administration (SSA) administers two programs that provide disability benefits: the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. SSDI provides disability benefits to people (under the full retirement age) who are no longer able to work because of a disabling medical condition. SSI provides income assistance for disabled, blind, and aged people who have limited income and resources regardless of their prior participation in the labor force. Both programs share a common disability determination process administered by SSA and state agencies as well as a common definition of disability for adults: "the inability to engage in any substantial gainful activity by reason of any medically determinable physical or mental impairment which can be expected to result in death or which has lasted or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than 12 months." Disabled workers might receive either SSDI benefits or SSI payments, or both, depending on their recent work history and current income and assets. Disabled workers might also receive benefits from other public programs such as workers' compensation, which insures against work-related illness or injuries occurring on the job, but those other programs have their own definitions and eligibility criteria. Selected Health Conditions and Likelihood of Improvement with Treatment identifies and defines the professionally accepted, standard measurements of outcomes improvement for medical conditions. This report also identifies specific, long-lasting medical conditions for adults in the categories of mental health disorders, cancers, and musculoskeletal disorders. Specifically, these conditions are disabling for a length of time, but typically don't result in permanently disabling limitations; are responsive to treatment; and after a specific length of time of treatment, improve to the point at which the conditions are no longer disabling.

The system of the human body, which provides humans with the ability to move using their muscular and skeletal systems, is known as human musculoskeletal system. It provides movement, support, form, and stability to the body. Pain, injuries and disorders related to this system are called musculoskeletal disorders. Enthesopathy, Achard syndrome, joint effusion, lumbar disc disease, Sever's disease, Zenker's paralysis and winged scapula are some of the common examples of musculoskeletal disorders. The assessment of musculoskeletal disorders follows a physical examination and a review of symptoms and pain, medical history, intensity of pain, as well as an examination of recreational and occupational hazards. Various diagnostic tests such as X-ray and MRI also help specialists in establishing a diagnosis. It strives to provide a fair idea about this subject and to help develop a better understanding of the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of various musculoskeletal disorders.
