La aprobación del Real Decreto-ley 13/2022, de 26 de julio, por el que se establece un nuevo sistema de cotización para los trabajadores por cuenta propia o autónomos y se mejora la protección por cese de actividad, pretende acercar las bases de cotización a las rentas reales de los trabajadores autónomos, lo que viene a suponer un giro radical en el modelo de cotización de éstos, el cual permanecía desvinculado de los ingresos obtenidos por el ejercicio de la actividad profesional. El legislador afronta esta reforma normativa con el claro objetivo de aproximar la cotización del Régimen Especial de Trabajadores Autónomos a la cotización del Régimen General. Además, la reforma supone la equiparación de la legislación española a los modelos existentes en otros Estados europeos. La presente obra expone pormenorizadamente este nuevo sistema de cotización aplicable a los trabajadores autónomos y pretende resolver las dudas interpretativas que se vienen generando en la aplicación de este nuevo modelo, abordando, específicamente, los elementos fundamentales que configuran este nuevo sistema de cotización y el contraste de este con las mutualidades alternativas de previsión social para algunas profesiones colegiadas. Finalmente, se analizan algunos otros modelos de cotización existentes para los trabajadores autónomos en diferentes Estados europeos, al objeto de obtener una visión global sobre esta cuestión.
