Ursprünglich als Provisorium aus der Taufe gehoben, verfasst das Grundgesetz sechzig Jahre nach seinem Inkrafttreten einen deutschen Staat, der die volle Souveränität über seine inneren und äußeren Angelegenheiten wiedererlangt hat. Mit der deutschen Einheit ist das de facto schon länger als Vollverfassung fungierende Grundgesetz nun auch ausdrücklich zur endgültigen Verfassung geworden. Trotz der mittlerweile über 50 Änderungen ist das Grundgesetz in seinen primären Setzungen unverändert, die Herausforderungen der Nachkriegszeit hat es bewältigt. Neue Fragen sind entstanden, auf die diese Verfassung eine Antwort geben soll. Der 60. Jahrestag der Verkündung des Bonner Grundgesetzes war für die Rechts- und Staatswissenschaftliche Fakultät der Universität Bonn Anlass für eine Ringvorlesung, deren Beiträge hier versammelt sind. Die neuere deutsche Verfassungsgeschichte dient den Autoren, unter ihnen Jürgen Rüttgers, Andreas Voßkuhle und Wolfgang Schäuble, als Ausgangspunkt für die Suche nach Antworten auf die verfassungsrechtlichen Fragen der Gegenwart.

Wie geht eine Rechtsordnung mit Regelungen um, die aus fremden Rechtsraumen stammen? Beispiele fur solche Rechtsrezeptionen lassen sich in Ostasien zahlreich finden. Ausgehend von einer Klarung des Rezeptionsbegriffs untersucht Matthias Veicht die chinesische Rezeptionsgeschichte von 1900 bis heute. Dabei arbeitet er die mannigfaltigen auslandischen, u. a. die deutschen, schweizerischen und japanischen Einflusse auf das chinesische Zivilrecht heraus. Er unterteilt die Rezeption in mehrere Phasen, wobei er jeweils die politischen und kulturellen Ausgangsbedingungen, die Grunde und Folgen der Rezeption erortert. Den Abschluss bildet eine rechtsvergleichende Darstellung, die sich mit dem historischen, aber auch mit dem geltenden Vertrags- und Kaufrecht Deutschlands, Festlandchinas und Taiwans auseinandersetzt.
