So the philosopher's way to be is the source (Quelle) of his values and of his basic model; it is an important way of understanding thrall. It appears, now, that the thought of this paper could be simplified. The primary notion is the philosopher's "way to be." Style, locus of interest, nisus and way of thought can then be seen as growing out of this, as particular aspects or expressions of it. This entire paper then would be an attempt to come to grips with the primary notion. How is a "way to be" related to what is normally called a philo sopher's views or theories (the formulable core)? Is it not irrelevant as non-implicatory fact, like biographical details or social background? I do not think so. A philosopher's way to be is not external fact to the formulable core of his thought. It is not "internal" either in the logical sense. It is what allows us to comprehend his explicit views.

In diesem Band werden zum ersten Mal die Ansichten von 12 Forschern zum Œuvre der Berliner Autorin Monika Maron (1941) zusammengebracht. Die Beiträge entstanden im Rahmen eines internationalen Symposiums anlässlich des 60. Geburtstages der Autorin, das Ende März 2001 an der Universität Gent stattgefunden hat. Junge wie etablierte Wissenschaftler haben Einzelanalysen und Übersichtsartikel verfasst, die zusammen das gesamte Œuvre von Flugasche bis Pawels Briefe umspannen und zugleich einen Ausblick auf die Zukunft ermöglichen. Die gemeinsame ‘dialogische’ Ausrichtung der präsentierten Einblicke äußert sich darin, dass jeweils mit eigener Akzentsetzung die Grenzen des Textes nach außen hin überschritten werden. Dabei werden nicht nur die vielfältigen Wechselwirkungen zwischen Text und Zeit, sondern auch die bisher viel weniger thematisierte Bedeutung anderer Texte sowie die diversen Arten der Rezeption untersucht. Methodologisch reichen die Ansätze von der traditionellen Hermeneutik über historische Fragestellungen, Diskursanalyse und Rezeptionstheorie bis hin zu Überlegungen zur Ethik der Ästhetik. Eine umfangreiche Bibliographie, in der eine möglichst umfassende Übersicht über Verbreitung und Rezeption von Marons Werken geboten wird, schließt den Band ab. Monika Maron in Perspective dokumentiert so, in den Beiträgen wie in der Bibliographie, den heutigen Stand der Forschung und liefert zudem zahlreiche Impulse zu einer weiteren Auseinandersetzung mit dem Werk.

Eine Einleitung beschreibt üblicherweise, was den Leser im folgenden Text erwartet. Die Beziehung zwischen Einleitung und Text kann deshalb als "Funktionszusammenhang" verstanden werden, d. h. die Einleitung hat die Funktion, das Verständnis des Lesers (in der Perspektive des Autors) so vorzubereiten und zu "dirigieren", daß er die Darstellungs- und Erklärungs absichten des Autors "versteht" (ohne daß dieser in der Regel die "Angemessenheit" seiner Vorstellungen überprüfen kann). Eine Einleitung kennzeichnet also den Zusammenhang, den Kontext, auf den das Nachfol gende zu beziehen ist. Eine Möglichkeit, den Kontext herzustellen, ist eine Benennung dessen, was man tun wird bzw. zu definieren, wovon der Text "handelt". Man könnte zum Beispiel sagen, diese Arbeit ist eine soziologische Un tersuchung des "New Age", die aufgrund der Analyse von Interviewmaterial zeigen kann, daß fast alle esoterischen Erfahrungen auf dieselbe Weise zu standekommen wie andere Erfahrungen auch. Man könnte auch sagen, daß die Arbeit "letztendlich" darauf verweist, daß "wir alle" Esoteriker sind, weil unsere Praxis der Sinnherstellung darauf angewiesen ist, Zeichen einer "eigentlichen" Realität zu erkennen und zu deuten. Eine dritte Möglichkeit wäre die Aussage, daß es sich "im Grunde" um eine modernisierungstbeore tische Analyse handelt, die belegt, daß esoterische Aktivitäten strukturell als besonders brauchbare Strategien im Umgang mit dem Individualisie rungsdruck moderner Gesellschaften zu verstehen sind. Vielleicht ist es aber doch eher eine wissenssoziologische Untersuchung, denn tatsächlich werden ja die Strukturen des esoterischen Sinnzusammenhangs typologisch geord net und auf ihre Anschlußfäbigkeit an andere gesellschaftliche Wissenssy steme untersucht.

In this collective volume the origins, neurosocial support, and therapeutic implications of (pre)verbal intersubjectivity are examined with a focus on implications of the discovery of mirror neurons. Entailing a paradigmatic revolution in the intersection of developmental, social and neural sciences, two radical turnabouts are entailed. First, no longer can be upheld as valid Cartesian and Leibnizian assumptions about monadic subjects with disembodied minds without windows to each other except as mediated by culture. Supported by a mirror system, specified in this volume by some of the discoverers, modes of participant perception have now been identified which entail embodied simulation and co-movements with others in felt immediacy. Second, no longer can be retained the Piagetian attribution of infant egocentricity. Pioneers who have broken new research grounds in the study of newborns, protoconversation, and early speech perception document in the present volume infant capacity for interpersonal communion, empathic identification, and learning by altercentric participation.
