Based on empirical studies of European energy and environmental policies, this book suggests that, in combination, these two policy fields form a consensus in the EU which might also become the basis for a new European ideology, namely European ‘sustainabilism’. It asks why an environmental conscience has grown since the late 1960s in the industrialised world and shows that whilst there is undeniable environmental degradation during this time, and that a European environmental conscience has mainly developed through successive steps of European integration in energy policy. Die Transformation des Geschäftsmodells gilt als die zentrale Herausforderung für ein zukunftsorientiertes Management. Meist wird dabei reflexartig unterstellt, dass es nur ein hohes Maß an "Foresight" bräuchte, um gewinnbringende Entwicklungen frühzeitig zu antizipieren, beispielsweise in Form umfangreicher Kundendaten, mit Hilfe von Trendforschung oder technologischen Zukunftsszenarien. Miriam Feuls stellt diesem Denken die Perspektive soziokultureller Praktiken entgegen und entwickelt daraus eine Methode, um eine Organisation zur Transformation ihres Geschäftsmodells zu inspirieren und zu befähigen. Die entscheidende Frage einer Geschäftsmodelltransformation -- "Was machen wir Montagmorgen anders?" -- bedeutet nämlich streng genommen nichts anderes als die Frage nach der Veränderung von organisationalen Praktiken, samt der damit verbundenen Haltung. Die anhand eines Praxisfalls erläuterte Methode umfasst drei Schritte: Erstens geschieht eine Bestandsaufnahme der für das aktuelle Geschäftsmodell charakteristischen Praktiken. Zweitens werden auf Basis der Praktikentheorie innovationsintensive soziokulturelle Bereiche mit Vorreitercharakter identifiziert und die dort vorzufindenden Alternativpraktiken herauspräpariert. Und drittens erfolgt ein strategischer Benchmarkingprozess, der die Überführbarkeit dieser Alternativpraktiken in das bestehende Geschäftsmodell systematisch prüft. Damit folgt das Konzept der Logik des scharfsichtigen Zukunftsdenkers William Gibson, der einst sagte: "The future is already there, it´s just not evenly distributed -- yet".
