Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Wohnen, Stadtsoziologie, Note: 2,0, Freie Universitat Berlin, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Umstande, unter denen Arbeitsmigranten in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland lebten und arbeiteten, werden von der Offentlichkeit oft als sehr verschieden wahrgenommen. Auf der einen Seite steht ein totalitares System, dass den Migranten nur einen kurzen aber arbeitsintensiven Aufenthalt unter dem ideologischen Deckmantel des "sozialistischen Aufbaus" gewahrte und sie nach getaner Arbeit bedingungslos in ihre Heimat zuruckschickte. Auf der anderen Seite die freie BRD, Traumland fur viele Arbeitsmigranten. Hier wurden Arbeitskrafte gebraucht, es wurde "ordentlich" bezahlt, es existierten schon Netzwerke von auslandischen Arbeitern und von der Anreise uber den Wohnheimplatz bis zur eigentlichen Arbeitsstelle war alles geregelt. Wer dann ersteinmal den Fu in der Tur hatte, konnte sich vom Ersparten eine eigene Existenz aufbauen und die Familie nachholen. Wie ich in der vorliegenden Arbeit zeigen mochte, waren aber trotz der eminenten Systemdifferenzen zwischen DDR und BRD weder die Grunde fur die Anwerbung von Arbeitsmigranten, noch die Bedingungen unter denen sie im "Gastland" lebten vollig unterschiedlich. Genauer eingehen mochte ich dabei - nach einem historischen Abriss der Migrationsgeschichte in den beiden Staaten - auf Arbeitsbedingungen und Wohnsituation der Migranten. Es soll vergleichend dargestellt werden, wie sich die Lebens- und Arbeitsumstande gestalteten und welche Rolle das jeweilige politische und wirtschaftliche System dabei spielte. Ich beziehe mich bei der Gegenuberstellung vornehmlich auf den Zeitraum der aktiven Anwerbung von Arbeitsmigranten, der in der BRD von 1955 bis 1973 und in der DDR von 1957 bis 1989 anzusetzen ist.

Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Geschichte Deutschlands - Nachkriegszeit, Kalter Krieg, Note: 1,0, Pädagogische Hochschule in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Veranstaltung: Migration, ethnische Minderheiten und Nationalismus: Mehrperspektivische Betrachtungen, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wenn in Deutschland von Migration gesprochen wird, ist damit in aller Regel die Migration in die Bundesrepublik gemeint. Vor allem wenn von Arbeitsmigration die Rede ist, verbindet man hiermit im Allgemeinen die Migration der Gastarbeiter in die BRD in den 50er und 60er Jahren. Dem Thema Migration in die DDR wird hierbei zumeist wenig Beachtung geschenkt. In der DDR gab es nicht nur Vertragsarbeiter, zur ausländischen Wohnbevölkerung gehörten weiterhin Studenten und Schüler, Lehrlinge, politische Flüchtlinge und andere Beschäftigte. Die politischen Flüchtlinge in der DDR kamen hauptsächlich aus Griechenland, Spanien und Chile, während die Studenten zumeist aus jungen Nationalstaaten in Afrika kamen, die sich aus der Kolonialherrschaft befreit hatten, und aus sozialistischen Ländern. Die größte Gruppe der ausländischen Wohnbevölkerung stellte in den letzten Jahrzenten der DDR jedoch die Vertragsarbeiter dar, die durch bilaterale Regierungsabkommen mit RGW-Ländern (Rat für gegenseitige Wirtschaftshilfe) und sozialistischen Entwicklungsländern für eine befristete Zeit zur Arbeit und Ausbildung in die DDR kamen. Darüber hinaus gab es zwischen 1949 und 1988 eine lange Zeit unerforschte Migration vom Westen in den Osten. Eine Beschäftigung mit allen Migrationsformen in die DDR würde allerdings den Rahmen dieser Arbeit sprengen oder es wäre eine nur oberflächliche Betrachtung möglich. Aus diesem Grund möchte ich mich in meiner Arbeit auf die größte Migrationsgruppe, die Vertragsarbeiter, beschränken. Da die DDR mit sehr unterschiedlichen Vertragspartnern bilaterale Regierungsabkommen zur „Arbeitskooperation“ abschloss, möchte ich mit Ausarbeitung dieses Themas dabei der Frage nachgehen, wie sich die Migrationspolitik der DDR hinsichtlich der Entsendeländer unterschied.

Die DDR schloss seit Beginn der 70er Jahren Anwerbevertrage mit Landern ausserhalb Europa, die politisch und wirtschaftlich gleich gesinnt waren. Die Beschaftigung dieser auslandischen Arbeitskrafte sollte den Arbeitskraftemangel der DDR-Wirtschaft lindern. Der hauptsachliche Grund war die Abwanderung von einheimischen Arbeitskraften in die Bundesrepublik. Jedoch lag die Auslanderbeschaftigung in der DDR im Vergleich zur BRD deutlich niedriger und wurde seitens der DDR auch als Unterstutzung der sozialistischen Bruderlichkeit" dargestellt. Auch versuchte man den in der Bundesrepublik etablierten Begriff Gastarbeiter" zu vermeiden und benutzte stattdessen Vertragsarbeiter," auch weil die auslandischen Arbeitskrafte nicht wie in der BRD in der Regel ein Bleiberecht erhalten, sondern nach gewisser Zeit ausgetauscht werden. Ich mochte mich bei den vietnamesischen Vertragsarbeiter aber verstarkt auf die vorkommenden Schwierigkeiten der Integrationsprozesse in der DDR konzentrieren und wie sich die Vietnamesen trotz dessen einfugen konnten

More than twenty-five years after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War, this book looks afresh at some of the lasting legacies of that period in history. It does so by focusing on individual life trajectories of a group of people whose adolescence was shaped by the politics of socialism and the transitions within it. Through their life histories, Legacies of Socialist Solidarity offers an alternative reading of Mozambique’s socialist past with important repercussions for the present. At the center of the book are the life histories of a group of then youth who attended one of the largest educational exchange projects between two socialist countries, Mozambique and former East Germany, in the 1980s. Having been educated in East Germany to become part of a future socialist elite back home, the book’s protagonists returned to a Mozambique that had meanwhile embarked on the new path of capitalist development. Their qualifications and skills were of little relevance, and the new Mozambican government regarded them as a threat rather than an asset. The book analyzes the life courses of some of those who spent their adolescence in East Germany with a focus on personal aspirations, political orientation, collective memories, and shared horizons. It shows lasting legacies of socialist beliefs and practices. In placing those into the context of the broader political developments in Mozambique, the book explores an important dimension for the understanding of contemporary Mozambique.
