Die Bibel wird zu Recht als Heilige Schrift bezeichnet, weil sie von göttlich inspirierten Menschen verfasst worden ist. Die Bibel - sowohl das Alte wie das Neue Testament - stellt in der Tat eine schier unermessliche Fundgrube für jemanden dar, der auf der Suche nach geistigen Erkenntnissen ist. Es gibt kein bedeutenderes Wahr- und Weisheitsbuch. Die Bibel ist von einer schier unendlichen Tiefe, die nach und nach ergründet werden will. Wie tief man auch immer in sie eingedrungen sein mag, hält sie immer noch neue Aspekte und Erkenntnisse bereit. Wohl jeder, der schon einmal ernsthaft die Heilige Schrift studiert hat, wird kaum bestreiten, dass er an so mancher Bibelstelle schier verzweifelt ist, da er die eine oder andere Aussage überhaupt nicht zu verstehen vermochte, oder weil er den Eindruck gewonnen hat, dass sich so manche Begebenheiten, von denen die Bibel berichtet, nicht mit dem zu vertragen scheinen, was ein gescheiter Mensch heute über die Weltverhältnisse wissen kann. Des Weiteren kommen viele mit den vermeintlichen Widersprüchen, die sich insbesondere in den Evangelien befinden, nicht zurecht. Die große Mehrheit der heutigen Menschheit kommt an den Geist der Bibel nicht mehr recht heran. Sie findet nur noch die toten Buchstaben vor. Von vielen Menschen wird die Bibel häufig in einer etwas sentimentalen Art zu verstehen gesucht. Man versucht sie so auszulegen, dass das persönliche religiöse Gemüt befriedigt wird. Die Bibel wird so zu einem Erbauungsbuch. Sie will aber ein Erkenntnisbuch sein. Der moderne Mensch muss heute erst wieder lernen, die Bibel in diesem Sinne zu lesen. Dank der anthroposophisch orientierten Geisteswissenschaft, kurz Anthroposophie, die der große Eingeweihte und Menschheitslehrer Dr. Rudolf Steiner der Welt vor rund 100 Jahren geschenkt hat, ist es uns heute möglich, die Bibel verstehen zu lernen. Aus unserer Sicht können zahlreiche Bibelpassagen erst dann verständlich werden, wenn man sie mit dem Erkenntnislicht der Anthroposophie beleuchtet. Durch sie findet man das geistige Hintergrundwissen, das nötig ist, um die Bibel zu entschlüsseln.
