Außer dem Auftrag verbindet die beiden ihre Leidenschaft für die Elsässer Küche. In den Gaststuben der Region treffen sie sich, um ihre Ergebnisse auszutauschen. Dabei wird klar, dass sie vor allem eines sind: Konkurrenten. Es beginnt ein Wettlauf der Ermittlungen, der von zerstrittenen Wanderern über kauzige Waldbewohner zu einer finsteren Überlieferung führt. Johannes Hucke, Autor zahlreicher Romane, Theaterstücke und Wein-Lesebücher, wendet sich diesmal dem legendenreichen Waldland zwischen Nord-Elsass und Südpfalz zu. Eine üppige, amüsante und ziemlich gruselige Geschichte.
