Jahrhunderts, Note: 1,0, Universität Trier, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es ist zwar möglich, dass es sich bei Unaufrichtigkeit um eine vernünftige Strategie handelt, um gewissen Problemen aus dem Weg zu gehen und dadurch einen Grad an Handlungsfähigkeit zu wahren, doch in vielen Fällen geht diese mit einer Verleugnung der eigenen Verantwortung einher. In der folgenden Arbeit soll die These überprüft werden, ob es sich aus diesem Grund bei dieser Art der Konfliktvermeidung um ein moralisches Problem handelt. Es wird versucht, dieses Problem auf Grundlage der von Sartre definierten Begriffe „Verantwortung“ und „Unaufrichtigkeit“ sowie, für das Verständnis der anderen beiden unerlässlich, „Freiheit“ zu skizzieren. Die Erklärung der einzelnen Komponenten dieses Dreigestirns erfolgt in den Kapiteln zwei und drei. In Kapitel vier wird versucht, die zuvor gewonnen Erkenntnisse aufeinander zu beziehen und die aufgestellte These des moralischen Problems der Unaufrichtigkeit abschließend zu verifizieren oder widerlegen. Es wird anschließend auf einige Probleme eingegangen, die mit dem Versuch eine existentialistische Ethik aufzustellen verbunden sind. Jean-Paul Sartre führt den Begriff der Unaufrichtigkeit (mauvaise foi) in „Das Sein und das Nichts“ als analytische Kategorie ein, um auf ihrer Grundlage Aussagen über das Sein der menschlichen Realität treffen zu können. Sie wird, neben dem Begriff der Freiheit, zu einem der zentralsten Themen seiner Philosophie. Auch wenn eine ethische Deutung des Begriffs zunächst naheliegend erscheint, distanzierte sich Sartre selbst davon, dass Unaufrichtigkeit als moralischer Terminus benutzt wird, was sicher an seiner ursprünglich analytischen Verwendungsweise liegt. Die obigen Beispiele sowie einige Passagen in „Das Sein und das Nichts“ scheinen dies jedoch zu widerlegen. Sartre bettet den Begriff der Unaufrichtigkeit in moralisch gehaltvolle Situationen ein und argumentiert an verschiedenen Stellen für eine Überwindung dieses Zustandes. Während der französische Existentialismus für sich beansprucht, eine lebensnahe, „konkrete“ Philosophie zu sein, hat Sartre es nicht geschafft, eine eigene Moralphilosophie zu entwickeln. Ausgangspunkt für eine solche könnte, über den analytischen Hintergrund hinwegsehend, die Unaufrichtigkeit sein.

This volume gathers a collection of fourteen original articles discussing the concept of drive in classical German philosophy. Its aim is to offer a comprehensive historical overview of the concept of drive at the turn of the 19th century and to discuss it both historically and systematically. From the 18th century onward, the concept of drive started to play an important role in emerging disciplines such as biology, anthropology, and psychology. In these fields, the concept of drive was used to describe the inner forces of organic nature, or, more particularly, human urges and desires. But it was in the period of classical German philosophy that this concept developed into an important philosophical concept crucial to Kant’s and post-Kantian idealistic systems. Reflecting the complexity of this concept, the volume first discusses historical sources of drive theories in Leibniz, Reimarus, and Blumenbach.
