Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,8, Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau, Standort Zwickau (Fachbereich Unternehmensführung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In den ersten drei Kapiteln des Buches „Die Neuordnung der Weltpolitik“ von Werner Link werden nur politische Aspekte seitens des Autors angesprochen. Hierbei spielen beispielsweise Ereignisse über den Wunsch einer vernetzte Welt, Theorien über eine vereinheitlichte Welt nach I. Kant, politische Zusammenhänge zwischen Kirche und Staat, die bipolare Zweiteilung (Ost-West-Konflikt) und die Bedeutung der Menschenrechte eine bedeutende Rolle. Geld, mit der Funktion als „Regelungsmechanismus“ und „Machtsymbol“, wird hierbei von W. Link nicht angesprochen, ist aber im direkten Zusammenhang und in Verbindung mit der Globalisierung zu sehen. Dies möchten wir im folgenden Text versuchen zu erläutern. Zu erst stellt sich uns die Frage, ob solche angesprochenen Aspekte von W. Link über eine „Vereinheitlichung der Welt“ überhaupt als realistisch angesehen werden können, oder doch eher als Utopie in Betrachtung kommen könnte. Auf der einen Seite stehen die Vorteile wie „[...] die Erschließung von Rohstoff- und Absatzmärkten und die Ausbreitung der industriellen Produktion [...]“ (Werner Link, Die Neuordnung der Weltpolitik, 1998, S. 14) im Vordergrund und andererseits sind die Widersprüche von Kulturen und Religion untereinander als dramatischer Gesichtspunkt formuliert. Die daraus resultierenden Folgen wie zum Beispiel Anpassungszwänge, welche zu Auseinandersetzungen in Form von Kriegen führen können und auch schon in der Geschichte geführt haben, werden vom Autor aufgezeigt. Die abgebildete Karte auf Seiten 30 / 31 verdeutlicht diese Problematik und wertet sie optisch auf. Es ist jedoch erschreckend zu sehe n, wie wenige Länder es gibt, die frei und unabhängig existieren. [...]

The ascendancy of neo-liberalism in different parts of the world has put social democracy on the defensive. Its adherents lack a clear rationale for their policies. Yet a justification for social democracy is implicit in the United Nations Covenants on Human Rights, ratified by most of the worlds countries. The covenants commit all nations to guarantee that their citizens shall enjoy the traditional formal rights; but they likewise pledge governments to make those rights meaningful in the real world by providing social security and cultural recognition to every person. This new book provides a systematic defence of social democracy for our contemporary global age. The authors argue that the claims to legitimation implicit in democratic theory can be honored only by social democracy; libertarian democracies are defective in failing to protect their citizens adequately against social, economic, and environmental risks that only collective action can obviate. Ultimately, social democracy provides both a fairer and more stable social order. But can social democracy survive in a world characterized by pervasive processes of globalization? This book asserts that globalization need not undermine social democracy if it is harnessed by international associations and leavened by principles of cultural respect, toleration, and enlightenment. The structures of social democracy must, in short, be adapted to the exigencies of globalization, as has already occurred in countries with the most successful social-democratic practices.
