Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2021 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Linguistik, Note: 2,3, Universität Bielefeld, Veranstaltung: Akzeptabilität, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Es taucht immer wieder die Behauptung auf, dass Niederdeutsch in der heutigen Zeit keine angesehene Sprache des öffentlichen Lebens oder eine Bildungssprache ist. Darüber hinaus kämpft der Dialekt seit einigen Jahren mit einem Image-Problem und wird kaum noch gesprochen. Die vorliegende Hausarbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Rolle des niederdeutschen Dialekts in der damaligen und heutigen Zeit und mit der Frage, wie akzeptiert dieser Dialekt ist. Das Interesse der vorliegenden Arbeit entstand daraus, herausfinden zu wollen, wie sich die niederdeutsche Sprache entwickelt und etabliert hat und ob es sich beim Niederdeutschen im Allgemeinen um eine eigene Sprache oder doch nur um einen Dialekt handelt. Darüber hinaus ist das Ziel dieser Hausarbeit, die Frage der Akzeptanz, des Interesses und des Images dieser Dialektsprache aufzuklären. Zu Beginn der Arbeit wird, als eine Art Exkurs, auf die Geschichte des Niederdeutschen eingegangen, um vorab die Entstehung, die Verbreitung und den Anwendungsbereich zu durchleuchten. Nach dem Aufzeigen der Hintergrundinformationen wird anschließend zu Beginn des Hauptteils auf die Unterschiede der hochdeutschen Standardsprache und dem niederdeutschen Dialekt eingegangen. Ebenfalls wird die Frage, ob es sich beim Niederdeutschen um eine eigene Sprache oder nur um einen Dialekt handelt, beantwortet. Im Anschluss daran wird erläutert, welchen Einfluss das Niederdeutsche auf die hochdeutsche Standardsprache hat. Daraufhin folgt eine Gegenüberstellung des Status des Niederdeutschen im Hinblick auf die damalige und die heutige Zeit. In diesem Teil werden insbesondere die sozialen Aspekte, wie die Sozialschicht und das Image des Dialekts herausgearbeitet. In diesem Part wird ebenfalls der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern das Niederdeutsche in der heutigen Zeit akzeptiert wird. Abschließend wird ein Fazit aus den wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen und Ergebnissen dieser Arbeit gezogen und eine Antwort auf die Frage, welche Rolle der niederdeutsche Dialekt heutzutage spielt und inwiefern er akzeptiert wird, gegeben.
