This book highlights the importance of phytochemicals and mitochondria in cancer prevention and therapy. The serendipitous discovery of the antitumor activity of cis-diamminodichloroplatinum(II) (cisplatin) by Barnett Rosenberg in the 1960s is a landmark in metallodrug-based chemotherapy.
