Job satisfaction literature has relied primarily on self-report responses. This study sought to expand past research by using an "other rater" to rate job satisfaction and introduce the friend to do so. This study utilized a sample of realtors to investigate the differences between self and friend reports of job satisfaction. Although the novel hypotheses were not supported, this study suffered from a low sample size when collecting both self and friend-reports of job satisfaction. The low correlation between self-ratings and friend ratings of overall job satisfaction, r(29) = .12, p = .53, combined with the high mean scores of job satisfaction from the self-report group, (M = 4.69, SD = 0.47), shows that self-reporting of job satisfaction may not be accurate. Additionally, it may be influenced by ego protection to promote one's own image, and workplace friends may have different insight into an individual's workplace attitudes. Future research should replicate this study using a sample from a different industry in which employees work closely together, and should investigate other attitudinal constructs.

A substantial and persistent earnings gap exists between male and female employees in Britain. Despite this gap, British women typically report higher levels of job satisfaction than men. We consider this apparent contradiction by asking whether the higher job satisfaction reported by female employees is associated with their being less concerned by the level of co-worker wages. We explore the relationship between reported job satisfaction and own, relative and comparison-group wage; allowing for asymmetry in responses across genders. We find that choice of relevant comparison group is affected by gender; men display behaviour characteristic of competitiveness while women do not.

"This study examined the differences in reported work-related stress, burnout, and job satisfaction in educators based on the educators' experience levels following the forced change in the learning environment that came out of the switch to virtual learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Educators face a complex task in educating the world's future leaders, and many educators have distinct styles and patterns of administering that education. The forced transition to virtual learning was an abrupt change from the norms previously established by these educators, and the disruption that the COVID-19 pandemic caused resulted in those styles and patterns changing. This study hypothesized that due to those disruptions to teaching styles and behavioral patterns, educators would report experiencing differing levels of job satisfaction, work-related stress, and burnout during this disruption. The study found there was not a statistically significant difference between experienced and induction level educators in the three scales of burnout (Emotional Exhaustion, Depersonalization, and Personal Accomplishment) during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found experienced level educators reported experiencing a higher level of job satisfaction than induction level educators during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found experienced level educators reported experiencing a lower level of work-related stress than induction level educators during the COVID-19 pandemic"--Page 6.
