Many evolution processes are characterized by the fact that at certain moments of time they experience a change of state abruptly. These processes are subject to short-term perturbations whose duration is negligible in comparison with the duration of the process. Consequently, it is natural to assume that these perturbations act instantaneously, that is, in the form of impulses. It is known, for example, that many biological phenomena involving thresholds, bursting rhythm models in medicine and biology, optimal control models in economics, pharmacokinetics and frequency modulated systems, do exhibit impulsive effects. Thus impulsive differential equations, that is, differential equations involving impulse effects, appear as a natural description of observed evolution phenomena of several real world problems.

Impulsive differential equations have been an object of intensive investigation during recent years, due to the wide possibilities for their application in various fields of science and technology. This monograph deals with periodic solutions of impulsive differential equations. Periodic linear impulsive differential equations are studied in detail. The use of the small parameter method in noncritical and critical cases is justified. The question of the existence of periodic solutions of nonlinear impulsive differential equations is discussed and various approximate methods of finding these solutions are justified.

Integral Inequalities And Applications written by D.D. Bainov and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2013-04-18 with Mathematics categories.
This volume is devoted to integral inequalities of the Gronwall-Bellman-Bihari type. Following a systematic exposition of linear and nonlinear inequalities, attention is paid to analogues including integro-differential inequalities, functional differential inequalities, and discrete and abstract analogues. Applications to the investigation of the properties of solutions of various classes of equations such as uniqueness, stability, dichotomy, asymptotic equivalence and behaviour is also discussed. The book comprises three chapters. Chapter I and II consider classical linear and nonlinear integral inequalities. Chapter III is devoted to various classes of integral inequalities of Gronwall type, and their analogues, which find applications in the theory of integro-differential equations, partial differential equations, differential equations with deviating argument, impube differential equations, etc. Each chapter concludes with a section illustrating the manner of application. The book also contains an extensive bibliography. For researchers whose work involves the theory and application of integral inequalities in mathematics, engineering and physics.

Impulsive Differential Equations With A Small Parameter written by Drumi D Bainov and has been published by World Scientific this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 1994-12-16 with Mathematics categories.
This book is devoted to impulsive differential equations with a small parameter. It consists of three chapters. Chapter One serves as an introduction. In Chapter Two, regularly perturbed impulsive differential equations are considered. Modifications of the method of small parameter, the averaging method, and the method of integral manifolds are proposed. In Chapter Three, singularly perturbed differential equations are considered. A modification of the method of boundary functions is proposed, and asymptotic expansions along the powers of the small parameters of the solutions of the initial value problem, the periodic problem, and some boundary value problems are found. Numerous nonstandard applications to the theory of optimal control are made. The application of some other methods to impulsive singularly perturbed equations is illustrated, such as the numerical-analytical method for finding periodic solutions, the method of differential inequalities and the averaging method. The book is written clearly, strictly, and understandably. It is intended for mathematicians, physicists, chemists, biologists and economists, as well as for senior students of these specialities.

The concept of impulsive control and its mathematical foundation called - pulsive di?erential equations,or di?erential equations with impulse e?ects,or di?erential equations with discontinuous righthand sides have a long history. In fact, in mechanical systems impulsive phenomena had been studied for a long time under di?erent names such as: mechanical systems with impacts. The study of impulsive control systems (control systems with impulse e?ects) has also a long history that can be traced back to the beginning of modern control theory. Many impulsive control methods were successfully developed under the framework of optimal control and were occasionally called impulse control. The so called impulse control is not exactly the impulsive control as will be de?ned in this book. The reader should not mixup these two kinds of control methods though in many papers they were treated as the same. - cently, there is a tendency of integrating impulsive control into hybrid control systems. However, this e?ort does not have much help to the development of impulsive control theory because impulsive systems can only be studied by the very mathematical tool based on impulsive di?erential equations. The e?ort to invent a very general framework of hybrid control system for stu- ing impulsive control and other hybrid control problems will contribute no essential knowledge to impulsive control.

Bifurcation Theory Of Impulsive Dynamical Systems written by Kevin E.M. Church and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-03-24 with Mathematics categories.
This monograph presents the most recent progress in bifurcation theory of impulsive dynamical systems with time delays and other functional dependence. It covers not only smooth local bifurcations, but also some non-smooth bifurcation phenomena that are unique to impulsive dynamical systems. The monograph is split into four distinct parts, independently addressing both finite and infinite-dimensional dynamical systems before discussing their applications. The primary contributions are a rigorous nonautonomous dynamical systems framework and analysis of nonlinear systems, stability, and invariant manifold theory. Special attention is paid to the centre manifold and associated reduction principle, as these are essential to the local bifurcation theory. Specifying to periodic systems, the Floquet theory is extended to impulsive functional differential equations, and this permits an exploration of the impulsive analogues of saddle-node, transcritical, pitchfork and Hopf bifurcations. Readers will learn how techniques of classical bifurcation theory extend to impulsive functional differential equations and, as a special case, impulsive differential equations without delays. They will learn about stability for fixed points, periodic orbits and complete bounded trajectories, and how the linearization of the dynamical system allows for a suitable definition of hyperbolicity. They will see how to complete a centre manifold reduction and analyze a bifurcation at a nonhyperbolic steady state.

Mathematical Models For Therapeutic Approaches To Control Hiv Disease Transmission written by Priti Kumar Roy and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2015-12-08 with Mathematics categories.
The book discusses different therapeutic approaches based on different mathematical models to control the HIV/AIDS disease transmission. It uses clinical data, collected from different cited sources, to formulate the deterministic as well as stochastic mathematical models of HIV/AIDS. It provides complementary approaches, from deterministic and stochastic points of view, to optimal control strategy with perfect drug adherence and also tries to seek viewpoints of the same issue from different angles with various mathematical models to computer simulations. The book presents essential methods and techniques for students who are interested in designing epidemiological models on HIV/AIDS. It also guides research scientists, working in the periphery of mathematical modeling, and helps them to explore a hypothetical method by examining its consequences in the form of a mathematical modelling and making some scientific predictions. The model equations, mathematical analysis and several numerical simulations that are presented in the book would serve to reveal the consequences of the logical structure of the disease transmission, quantitatively as well as qualitatively. One of the chapters introduces the optimal control approach towards the mathematical models, describing the optimal drug dosage process that is discussed with the basic deterministic models dealing with stability analysis. Another one chapter deals with the mathematical analysis for the perfect drug adherence for different drug dynamics during the treatment management. The last chapter of the book consists the stochastic approach to the disease dynamics on HIV/AIDS. This method helps to move the disease HIV/AIDS to extinction as the time to increase. This book will appeal to undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as researchers, who are studying and working in the field of bio-mathematical modelling on infectious diseases, applied mathematics, health informatics, applied statistics and qualitative public health, etc. Social workers, who are working in the field of HIV, will also find the book useful for complements.
