Buku yang ada di hadapan pembaca ini merupakan karya ilmiah yang diadaptasi dari sejumlah tugas akhir mahasiswa Program Beasiswa Santri Berprestasi (PBSB) Kemenag RI pada Program Studi (Prodi) Ilmu Falak Fakultas Syari’ah & Hukum (FSH) UIN Walisongo Semarang. Karya yang berjudul “Digitalisasi Ilmu Falak Dalam Teori dan Praktik” ini merupakan bagian dari khazanah keilmuan falak yang selama ini dikenal sebagai ilmu yang “langka” sebagai upaya untuk berpartisipasi menjawab tantangan perkembangan IPTEK. Saat ini dunia sedang mengalami masalah yang serius dengan perubahan Iptek yang sangat cepat dan kompleks, menuntut kesiapan dalam menghadapi perubahan dunia yang serba cepat. Terlebih, Era super smart society 5.0 sedang hangat-hangatnya diperbincangkan sebagai antisipasi dari gejolak disrupsi akibat Revolusi Industri 4.0 yang dipenuhi dengan segala kecanggihannya. Maka sudah barang tentu, perlu adanya penyesuaian terhadap era yang penuh dengan kecanggihan teknologi dan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan itu. Ilmu falak dalam perkembangannya rupanya mampu untuk mengimbangi dan memenuhi perkembangan IPTEK dengan muncul karya- karya mahasiswa Prodi Ilmu Falak dalam bidang IT. Karya-karya tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi berkaitan dengan layanan falakiyah melalui platform digital bagi masyarakat secara umum.
