Wirtschaft 4.0 für Governance, Risk & Compliance mit sich bringen wird, soll in dieser Arbeit analysiert werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird auf den folgenden Seiten via einer Literaturanalyse und anhand eines Experteninterviews geprüft, welche Rolle GRC in der Digitalisierung spielt und auch in Zukunft spielen kann und wie bestehende GRC-Ansätze genutzt werden müssen, um den Anforderungen der Digitalisierung gerecht zu werden. Hierzu soll folgende Frage am Ende dieser wissenschaftlichen Arbeit beantwortet werden: Welche Chancen und Herausforderung hinsichtlich Digitalisierung gibt es für GRC? Die Digitalisierung kommt nicht, sie ist bereits da und wird die Art und Weise, wie Unternehmensleitungen ihre Aufgaben wahrnehmen von Grund auf verändern. Sie bietet unbegrenzte Möglichkeiten die Prozesse im Unternehmen zu beschleunigen und effektiver zu machen und damit effizienter auf drohende Risiken für das eigene Geschäftsmodell zu reagieren. Daher ist es nicht übertrieben zu sagen, dass die Möglichkeiten der Digitalisierung auch tradierte Unternehmensbilder signifikant verändert. Kaum merklich ist sie an uns herangetreten und verändert nun sämtliche Lebensbereiche sowohl im privaten als auch im geschäftlichen Umfeld. Im Hinblick auf Unternehmen lassen sich die Effekte der Digitalisierung insbesondere in drei Teilbereiche untergliedern: Geschäftsmodelle, interne Abläufe und Prozesse sowie Überwachung und Steuerung. Die Überwachung und Steuerung von Unternehmen (Corporate Governance - GRC) wird sich daher maßgeblich wandeln. Dementsprechend auch das Controlling und das Risikomanagement, welche sich einer grundlegenden Transformation unterziehen müssen, die nicht nur aus Standardisierung und Automatisierung bestehen wird. Beispielsweise durch Echtzeit-Prüfungen von Kontrollen und Geschäftsvorfällen, statt turnusmäßigen rückwirkenden Betrachtungen. Wie man erkennen kann, wird die Digitalisierung zweifellos dazu beitragen, die Beziehungen innerhalb der GRC effizienter zu gestalten. Es könnte sogar dazu kommen, dass man gerade wegen der positiven Auswirkungen der Digitalisierung die Beziehungen innerhalb der Governance maßgeblich ändern wird, um den Trends leichter folgen zu können und einen langfristigen Erfolg der Unternehmen zu erreichen. Die Tragweite, die dieser Wandel mit sich bringt, kann heute in vielen Fällen noch nicht abgeschätzt werden.
