The Dinosaur Mummy is the most complete dinosaur fossil ever discovered. A team of nearly 100 scientists and technicians worked for over three years to unlock the secrets of this amazing fossil. The story that this fossil told allowed famed science illustrator Julius Csotonyi to create the most lifelike and accurate illustrations of prehistoric dinosaur life ever made. This book tells a story of prehistory with an accuracy of detail never before possible. The lavish illustrations will thrill both children and adults with a story over 75 million years in the making. From prehistoric Montana to NASA's Johnson Space Center, follow the science team on their journey of discovery. Find out what was discovered inside the dinosaur as powerful Xrays and other technologies were used to investigate the fossil. You will find in these pages a newly discovered world. As famed dinosaur paleontologist Dr. Robert Bakker, one of primary members of the science team, said about the fossil, "This fossil is so complete it answers questions we never thought to ask."

Many of us have seen dinosaur bones and skeletons, maybe even dinosaur eggs...but what did those fearsome animals really look like in the flesh? Soft-tissue fossils give tantalizing clues about the appearance and physiology of the ancient animals. In this exciting book, paleontologist Phillip Manning presents the most astonishing dinosaur fossil excavations of the past 100 years—including the recent discovery of a remarkably intact dinosaur mummy in the Badlands of North Dakota. Bone structure is just the beginning of our knowledge today, thanks to amazing digs like these. Drawing on new breakthroughs and cutting-edge techniques of analysis, Dr. Manning takes us on a thrilling, globe-spanning tour of dinosaur mummy finds—from the first such excavation in 1908 to a baby dinosaur unearthed in 1980, from a dino with a heart in South Dakota to titanosaur embryos in Argentina. And he discusses his own groundbreaking analysis of "Dakota," discovered by Tyler Lyson. Using state-of-the-art technology to scan and analyse this remarkable discovery, National Geographic and Dr. Manning create an incredibly lifelike portrait of Dakota. The knowledge to be gained from this exceedingly rare find, and those that came before it, will intrigue dinosaur-loving readers of all ages.

Millie and the Museum, Millie meets the dinosaurs is the first in a series of books made to inspire small children to visit museums. It is about a young girl, who is nervous in anticipation of her trip to the Natural History Museum to visit the dinosaurs. Unable to sleep the night before, Millie winds herself up to believe that she will be gobbled up by dinosaurs during her visit. She worries and worries all the way to the museum. On arrival her mischievous little sister Sophia zooms up the steps of the museum, as Millie fearfully contemplates the size of the dinosaurs based on the huge size of the museum. This character theme will resonate throughout the story. Millie cautiously enters the museum to find Dippy the Diplodocus looming overhead. She assumes, wrongly of course, that Dippy must have enormous teeth. While contemplating this, her worst fears are potentially brought to life by the noise and chaos which follows her sister Sophia everywhere. Sophia can be seen in the background zooming back and forth. Disaster follows as Sophia crashes straight into the Dippy exhibit, bones and dust fly everywhere. Next, Mummy arrives to calm the storm of fears with interesting facts and assurances about Dippy the herbivore and the dinosaur's ultimate extinction. Once calmed Millie is encouraged by Mummy to visit the other dinosaurs. The book concludes with a challenge to readers "Are you brave enough to visit the Natural History Museum?"
