Who shapes the European Union’s policy towards Latin America? How has this EU policy modified individual member states’ relations with the region? This book provides a comparative account of seven member states’ bilateral links with Latin America since 1945, in the context of their EU membership and based on the concept of ‘Europeanization’. It illustrates how and why the main architects of this EU policy have been Spain and Germany. In contrast, Poland, Sweden and Ireland, which had little previous interaction with Latin America, have developed their current relations with that region virtually as a result of their EU membership. The United Kingdom and France lie in the middle: they have been influential in certain policy-areas and key periods in history, while they have adapted to what is done at the EU level in others. Practitioners, established academic experts as well emerging scholars in the field bring to be bear a novel combination of pioneering research and cutting edge conceptual analysis on this important but neglected area of the EU’s foreign relations.

The Global Panel Foundation and The Prague Society for International Cooperation are committed to bringing people together to discuss and broaden our knowledge. La Revista de la Inquisición, Intolerancia y Derechos Humanos es el resultado de la colaboración entre la Agencia Estatal Boletín Oficial del Estado y el Instituto de Historia de la Intolerancia. Este Instituto universitario fue fundado en 1984, y por convenio de 21 de abril de 2007 quedó integrado en la Real Academia de Jurisprudencia y Legislación de España. Tiene como objetivo el estudio y enseñanza de la problemática de los fenómenos antiguos y modernos de intolerancia, promoviendo con ello, en el mundo de hoy, el respeto a la libertad de conciencia, los derechos humanos, el pluralismo en la convivencia democrática y la concordia civil. Entre esas manifestaciones históricas de la intolerancia, el Instituto dedica preferente atención a estudiar la historia de la Inquisición en Europa y América. Como manifestación del pensamiento y línea de actuación del Instituto surgió la Revista de la Inquisición. Intolerancia y Derechos Humanos, como una publicación científica especializada que, desde 1991, aparece ininterrumpidamente todos los años, en un único volumen. La revista se estructura en dos secciones y una miscelánea. La primera sección dedicada al estudio del Santo Oficio en España e Indias en su devenir histórico en el Antiguo Régimen. La segunda trata el análisis de los fenómenos de intolerancia en nuestra sociedad actual: discriminación por género u orientación sexual, esclavitud y trata de seres humanos, entre otros.
