This book covers the topic of discourse and argumentation in archaeology with an aim to serve the archaeology community. The book presents discourse and argument analysis approaches and techniques in an affordable manner and applied to archaeological situations. It focuses on techniques and approaches that can be applicable to multiple situations, periods and cultures. The book begins with an introduction to discourse and argumentation analysis as a general field and also as an auxiliary technique to archaeology. The work includes conceptual applications, ranging from causality, ontological connections, vagueness, social production of discourse and public debates. The work also devotes a section to computational approaches and describes the specifics of some well-known families of algorithms such as lexical processing, information extraction or sentiment analysis. The conclusion comments on the future and which reflects on the previous chapters and discusses how the presented techniques and approaches should be adapted or improved for easier and more powerful application to archaeology. Contributing authors bring perspectives from archaeology, linguistics, and computer science.

Perspectives On Paradata written by Isto Huvila and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-09-26 with Business & Economics categories.

This open access book examines a rapidly 'datafied' society, reminding us that it is crucial to know what data is about and where it originates. This insight has led to an embryonic stage of new theorizing, empirical research, and the formation of new technologies, standards, practices, and concepts to ensure the availability of adequate 'paradata' – data on the making and processing of data. This edited volume aims to provide a cross-disciplinary overview of perspectives on the concept and phenomenon of paradata and its implications for research and practice.

Intelligent And Fuzzy Systems written by Cengiz Kahraman and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-08-29 with Computers categories.

This book presents recent research in intelligent and fuzzy techniques on Intelligent Industrial Informatics and Efficient Networks. This cutting-edge field integrates advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics, into industrial processes, revolutionizing the way industries operate. The book presents the examples of the implementation of smart sensors and IoT devices, which facilitate real-time data collection and communication. High-speed, low-latency networks ensure that information flows effortlessly between devices, enabling timely responses and enabling the coordination of complex manufacturing processes. This network architecture supports the integration of edge computing, where data processing occurs closer to the source, reducing latency and enabling faster decision-making. The readers can benefit from this book for maintaining a leadership position among competitors in both manufacturing and service companies. The intended readers are intelligent and fuzzy systems researchers, lecturers, M.Sc. and Ph.D. students studying intelligent and fuzzy techniques. The book covers fuzzy logic theory and applications, heuristics and metaheuristics from optimization to machine learning, from quality management to risk management, making the book an excellent source for researchers.

Linking Theory And Practice Of Digital Libraries written by Apostolos Antonacopoulos and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-09-24 with Computers categories.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 28th International Conference on Linking Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries, TPDL 2024, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, during September 24–27. The 13 full papers, 19 short papers and 11 papers of other types included in this book were carefully reviewed and selected from 83 submissions. Over the years, TPDL has established itself as an important international forum focused on digital libraries and associated technical, practical, and social issues. In 2024, TPDL expanded its scope to prominently include Document Analysis/Recognition and Information Retrieval, acknowledging the vital role of those research areas in the creation (by means of digitization and information extraction from heterogeneous sources), access, discovery, and dissemination of digital content.

Theory Of Distances In Neutrogeometry written by and has been published by Infinite Study this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2024-01-01 with Mathematics categories.

NeutroGeometry is one of the most recent approaches to geometry. In NeutroGeometry mod-els, the main condition is to satisfy an axiom, definition, property, operator and so on, that is neither entirely true nor entirely false. When one of these concepts is not satisfied at all it is called AntiGeometry. One of the problems that this new theory has had is the scarcity of models. Another open problem is the definition of angle and distance measurements within the framework of NeutroGeometry. This paper aims to introduce a general theory of distance measures in any NeutroGeometry. We also present an algorithm for distance measurement in real-life problems.

“Neutrosophic Sets and Systems” has been created for publications on advanced studies in neutrosophy, neutrosophic set, neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics that started in 1995 and their applications in any field, such as the neutrosophic structures developed in algebra, geometry, topology, etc. Neutrosophy is a new branch of philosophy that studies the origin, nature, and scope of neutralities, as well as their interactions with different ideational spectra. This theory considers every notion or idea together with its opposite or negation and with their spectrum of neutralities in between them (i.e. notions or ideas supporting neither nor ). The and ideas together are referred to as . Neutrosophy is a generalization of Hegel's dialectics (the last one is based on and only). According to this theory every idea tends to be neutralized and balanced by and ideas - as a state of equilibrium. In a classical way , , are disjoint two by two. But, since in many cases the borders between notions are vague, imprecise, Sorites, it is possible that , , (and of course) have common parts two by two, or even all three of them as well.

After Discourse written by Bjørnar Olsen and has been published by Routledge this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2020-12-21 with Philosophy categories.

After Discourse is an interdisciplinary response to the recent trend away from linguistic and textual approaches and towards things and their affects. The new millennium brought about serious changes to the intellectual landscape. Favoured approaches associated with the linguistic and the textual turn lost some of their currency, and were followed by a new curiosity and concern for things and their natures. Gathering contributions from archaeology, heritage studies, history, geography, literature and philosophy, After Discourse offers a range of reflections on what things are, how we become affected by them, and the ethical concerns they give rise to. Through a varied constellation of case studies, it explores ways of dealing with matters which fall outside, become othered from, or simply cannot be grasped through perspectives derived solely from language and discourse. After Discourse provides challenging new perspectives for scholars and students interested in other-than-textual encounters between people and the objects with which we share the world.
