O livro Mulheres e práticas de consumo: éthos e mediação de programas televisivos revela a produção de sentido em programas que retratam sobre a alimentação, a beleza e a moda, tendo como público-alvo a mulher ou a consumidora contemporânea. Quando consideramos o contexto sociocultural e o aspecto ideológico dos programas, a relação entre o gênero e o consumo parece-nos pertinente, uma vez que tais produções sugestionam os modelos de consumo às suas telespectadoras. A prática desses modelos dá-se em locais específicos e é acessada por essas consumidoras, dispostas a investir em tais serviços, pois, os mesmos são caros e exigem um modus ou ritual de consumo. Isso confere a essas mulheres um status social, pois, o consumo é a chave para o deslocamento das classes sociais. Com o intuito de compreender o percurso da mensagem televisiva e sua produção de sentido na recepção, recorremos à Análise de Discurso (AD), aplicamos os dêiticos (éthos, páthos e cronotopo publicitário) e os efeitos de sentido, tais como: o de Simmel ou trickle-down (teoria do gotejamento) e o de Diderot nessas produções. Utilizamos ainda os pressupostos cognitivos e contextuais para explicar a fixação dos modelos de consumo na memória afetiva das telespectadoras e a formação dos discursos hegemônicos, advindos dos Estudos Críticos do Discurso (ECD). Revisitamos autores como: Almeida, Bakhtin, Brait, Charaudeau, Dijk, Discini, Fiorin, Maingueneau, McCracken, Trindade, Trindade e Barbosa, Souza entre outros. Recomendamos esta obra aos estudantes de Publicidade e Propaganda e às demais áreas da Comunicação Social, além de outros campos, cujos estudos interdisciplinares tenham uma interface com a Comunicação e, ainda, aos professores e pesquisadores. This book is based on the notion that an adequate response to globalization challenges requires a holistic approach to several different dimensions - immigration, technology, economy, and environment - as well as effective collaboration and coordination among the central domains of education: curriculum, teaching, and teacher education. Several cases of policy-making are presented in order to elicit common features as guidelines for the holistic policy-making model proposed in this book. First, this central framework views the different dimensions of globalization as requiring connection and integration. Esta pesquisa tem como orientação principal o debate sobre o lugar do Facebook, Instagram e WhatsApp - agora sob o nome do conglomerado Meta - como monopólio comunicacional e suas possíveis consequências. Está organizada em quatro aproximações que, relacionadas, respondem a questão da afinidade entre imagens, dramatização e produção de valor na fórmula comunicacional disponibilizada aos usuários pela plataforma, fazendo com que a realidade individual e coletiva passe por um filtro tecnologicamente mediado, e que seja apreendida e (auto)reflexionada por intermédio dessas relações. De tal maneira, a abordagem do problema e a proposta analítica passam pela relação da imagem com o eu, a ficção, a própria imagem e o suposto estatuto de imortalidade. Como resultado, por meio do fetichismo metodológico, a pesquisa debate diferentes camadas narrativas da decorrente ficcionalização da vida, identificando um mercado de imagens e de pessoas que motiva, por sua vez, a produção de si; a incursão de si na realidade; a produção dos fatos e a transformação dos eventos em registro privado. O livro trata, portanto, da produção da vida como mercadoria, por meio da narrativa produzida cotidianamente nas redes sociais, considerando que a comunicação tecnologicamente mediada se estabelece por intermédio da imagem e pela dramatização, tendo como resultado perverso dessa técnica a ficcionalização da realidade social.
