This monograph describes a programming methodology based upon programming paradigms and generic programs and demonstates how distributed application programs can be developed by simple substitution of data structures and sequential procedures. The author introduces generic programs for two paradigms and shows how to derive new distributed programs for several applications related to the RSA cryptosystem, including RSA enciphering and deciphering, prime number generation, and factoring. The book is well-written and easily accessible to the non-expert. The work is an appealing combination of the theory and practice of parallel computing and provides a clear introduction to the theory and practice of RSA cryptography.

This book, the second volume in the new DIMACS book series, contains the proceedings of a workshop held in Princeton, New Jersey in October 1989. The workshop, which drew seventy-four participants from five countries, addressed a wide range of practical and theoretical questions arising in the overlap of distributed computation and cryptography. In addition to fifteen papers based on formal talks presented at the workshop, this volume also contains two contributed papers on related topics, and an extensive summary of informal discussions that took place during the workshop, including some open questions raised. The book requires basic background in computer science and either a familiarity with the notation and terminology of distributed computing and cryptography, or a willingness to do some background reading. Students, researchers, and engineers interested in the theoretical and practical aspects of distributed computing and cryptography will appreciate the overview the book provides of some of the major questions at the forefront of research in these areas.

"Advanced Resilient Distributed Datasets in Distributed Computing" "Advanced Resilient Distributed Datasets in Distributed Computing" presents a comprehensive exploration of the theory, architecture, and practice of resilient distributed datasets (RDDs) at the cutting edge of distributed data processing. The book delves into fundamental abstractions behind distributed datasets, providing in-depth coverage of resilience-enabling concepts such as immutability, lineage, partitioning, and consistency—supported by detailed analyses of contemporary frameworks and advanced comparative insights. With a strong foundational focus, readers gain a thorough understanding of distributed data principles, fault tolerance models, and the impact of design choices on scalability and deterministic computation in complex, multi-tenant environments. This volume equips practitioners and researchers with advanced architectural strategies for building, optimizing, and securing RDD-based systems. Readers will find extensive guidance on data partitioning, dependency graphs, execution planning, and hybrid batch-stream architectures. Detailed treatments of cutting-edge fault tolerance—covering failure taxonomies, checkpointing, speculative execution, and coordinated multi-tenant recovery—are complemented by sophisticated optimization techniques for serialization, load balancing, iterative computation, and performance profiling. A dedicated section on security and privacy highlights actionable solutions to the most exigent threats of the distributed analytics era, including encryption, access control, auditability, and privacy-preserving computation. Drawing from best practices and lessons learned in industry at scale, the book features illuminating case studies spanning large-scale ETL, graph analytics, health informatics, real-time fraud detection, recommendation engines, and financial risk modeling. The closing chapters address future trends such as autonomous self-healing systems, federated and edge datasets, exascale processing, and the evolution of security and regulatory requirements. "Advanced Resilient Distributed Datasets in Distributed Computing" stands as an essential reference for architects, engineers, and researchers pushing the limits of resilient, high-performance distributed data operations.

Design And Analysis Of Cryptographic Algorithms In Blockchain written by Ke Huang and has been published by CRC Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-08-15 with Computers categories.
This book seeks to generalize techniques and experiences in designing and analyzing cryptographic schemes for blockchain. It devotes three chapters to review the background and basic knowledge, four chapters to discuss specific types of cryptographic primitive design for blockchain, one chapter to discuss optimization tools and another chapter for blockchain regulation and economies. This book covers the systematic survey of research objects, as well as detailed reviews of cryptographic schemes, lectures and methodologies to practice cryptography. The main findings of this book are summarized as following, first, the practical design and analysis of cryptographic schemes for blockchain can address major problems in blockchain at algorithmic level. Then, some intrinsic deficiencies in some traditional cryptographic primitives, like centralized setup, impractical design, etc, prevent the successful application of these primitives in blockchain. However, huge efforts are being made to make these primitives practical and applicable for researchers. Finally, the formal and rigorous design and analysis of public key cryptographic algorithms is vital to blockchain. Design and Analysis of Cryptographic Algorithms in Blockchain is a useful textbook for graduate students and PhD students, or researches who wish to connect cryptography with blockchain for research and developing projects.
