Baron requires a sub for the Foxy Femme Club. He's looking for a young woman who is willing to commit to a role, who is comfortable with moving into the cafe, and who, preferably, has the ability to make any man want to dominate her. Gabriella is so desperate for the work that she bends a few truths. Yes, she is young and eager, but she has never taken the role as a submissive. Yes, she is prepared to move into the cafe, but only because she's getting kicked out of her apartment anyway. Yes, she is willing to submit...but he's going to have to teach her how. ~~~~~ PG Excerpt ~~~~~ "What time did you tell her the interview was going to be, James?" Baron turned to James. "Eight." "Now,' he turned back to Gabriella. For a moment, she thought he was going to ask her to read out the time for him again. Instead, he said, "Tell me why you lost your previous jobs." The corner of his lips turned into a cruel smirk and she knew immediately that he already knew why she was fired from her last two jobs. She looked to James but he was already avoiding her gaze guiltily. She turned to Baron defiantly, "Does it matter?" "Yes,' he said, still giving her that annoying smirk. "What if I don't want to tell you?" she challenged even though she didn't quite understand why she was being so difficult. She had been asked the question before and had lied easily. The job wasn't a good fit. She found it no longer challenging. She was looking for other outlets. She could pick from any number of lies. "Bend over," he said. Her eyes widened. "Bend over," he repeated, getting up as she did. The chairs creaked as they were pushed away from the table. Her heart thudded in her throat. She bent over, leaning down against the table so that her nose was almost kissing the watch. "If you're going to act like an entitled little girl, then I'm going to punish you like one."

Reader Advisory: This story is for mature audiences only and features intensely erotic situations, bdsm play, spanking, forced exhibition, public humiliation, public sex, multiple partners, submissiveness and dominance. All characters are 18 or older. Victoria's dominant, David, has applied for the two of them to become members in the highly exclusive Tremboix Society, a BDSM network of the city's most powerful and influential. Though David Rencon surely falls within that category, he agrees that they must go through the Tremboix's rigorous screening process. Rather than questionnaires or resumes, the Tremboix uses only one metric to assess potential couples: the worthiness of the submissive. So it is that Victoria finds herself standing alone before a gathering of the city's most powerful and sexually dominant men with only one task: obey. Public Relations and Social Theory: Key Figures, Concepts and Developments broadens the theoretical scope of public relations studies by applying the work of a group of prominent social theorists to make sense of the practice. The volume focuses on the work of key social theorists, including Max Weber, Karl Marx, John Dewey, Jürgen Habermas, Niklas Luhmann, Michel Foucault, Ulrich Beck, Pierre Bourdieu, Anthony Giddens, Robert Putnam, Erving Goffman, Peter L. Berger, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Bruno Latour, Dorothy Smith, Zygmunt Bauman, Harrison White, John W. Meyer, Luc Boltanski and Chantal Mouffe. Each chapter is devoted to an individual theorist, providing an overview of that theorist’s key concepts and contributions, and exploring how these can be applied to public relations as a practice. Each chapter also includes a box giving a short and concise presentation of the theorist, along with recommendation of key works and secondary literature.

"Stephens' important and timely book provides an urgently needed and insightful synthesis of the previously fragmented field of community health psychology. A wide range of case material from both rich and poor countries is framed within a skilfully articulated set of debates around core issues of theory, practice, research and ethics. This text should be compulsory reading for all practitioners and students of health promotion." Professor Catherine Campbell, Health, Community and Development Group, London School of Economics Can the health of individuals be improved through community health programmes? How can community health promotion programmes be more effective? How is health awareness measured and evaluated? In recent years, health promoters have focused their attention not just on individual lifestyle change, but on daily social and physical conditions that surround the individual. They are now looking towards lifestyle change based on community or socially-based interventions. This book argues for the importance of theoretical explanations that inform investigations of the social context of daily life, the social relations that affect opportunities for healthy lives, and the needs of communities. Examining theories from a critical and values oriented perspective, it looks at current theories of health and health promotion, and discusses why health inequalities exist. The book includes a practical grounding, using examples of community health promotion practice, such as community arts and local community models, based on material and research from Britain, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and South America. The media's role in health promotion is also investigated, drawing on current media theory and examining media representation and the public's interpretative response. Issues surrounding the evaluation of health promotion programmes are also discussed. Health Promotion: A Psychosocial Approach provides a critical and theoretical basis for practice in social and community approaches to health promotion. It is key reading for postgraduate students of health psychology or community psychology, as well as qualified practitioners in public health areas who are developing theory based community programmes.

This 2019 Article IV Consultation highlights that Costa Rican government recognizes the challenges and is planning a broad array of measures, although the political and social environment remains difficult. The Consultation focused on policies that would help restore fiscal sustainability, strengthen the inflation targeting framework, enhance resilience of the financial system, and boost potential and inclusive growth. The fiscal reform constitutes a critical step towards restoring fiscal sustainability, but full and timely implementation is key. Further frontloaded fiscal consolidation, based largely on revenue measures, should be implemented to further reduce debt and financing pressures, while taking measures to protect the poor. It is also recommended that monetary policy should continue to remain data dependent and balance downside risks to inflation stemming from slower activity and upside risks to inflation arising from tighter global financial conditions. Structural reforms, including those planned under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development accession process should be implemented to improve competitiveness and foster inclusive growth.

This book examines how the contemporary Indian situation poses a strict theoretical challenge to Habermas’s theorization of the public sphere and employs the method of samvāda to critically analyse and dissect its universalist claims. It invites the reader to consider the possibility of imagining a normative Indian public sphere that is embedded in the Indian context—in a native and not nativist sense—to get past the derivative language of philosophical and political discourses prevalent within Indian academia. The book proposes that the dynamic cooperative space between Indian political theory and contemporary Indian philosophy is effectively suited to theorize the native idea of the Indian public sphere. It underlines the normative need for a natively theorized Indian public sphere to further the multilayered democratization of public spheres within diverse communities that constitute Indian society. The book will be a key read for contemporary studies in philosophy, political theory, sociology, postcolonial theory, history and media and communication studies.

Following the 2008 global financial crisis, Canada appeared to escape the austerity implemented elsewhere, but this was spin hiding the reality. A closer look reveals that the provinces – responsible for delivering essential public and social services such as education and healthcare – shouldered the burden. The Public Sector in an Age of Austerity examines public-sector austerity in the provinces and territories, specifically addressing how austerity was implemented, what forms austerity agendas took (from regressive taxes and new user fees to public-sector layoffs and privatization schemes), and what, if any, political responses resulted. Contributors focus on the period from 2007 to 2015, the global financial crisis and the period of fiscal consolidation that followed, while also providing a longer historical context – austerity is not a new phenomenon. A granular examination of each jurisdiction identifies how changing fiscal conditions have affected the delivery of public services and restructured public finances, highlighting the consequences such changes have had for public-sector workers and users of public services. The first book of its kind in Canada, The Public Sector in an Age of Austerity challenges conventional wisdom by showing that Canada did not escape post-crisis austerity, and that its recovery has been vastly overstated.
