Donk the donkey lives on Donkey Farm with his family. He may be the youngest of all his brothers and sisters, but boy, he is definitely the most curious of them all! Because his older siblings chase him away when he tries to play with them, Donk spends a lot of time alone. Being the deep thinker that he is, this little donkey questions everything and fills his days trying to work out why certain things are the way they are. One day, Donk decides to try and find out the answer to a particular question that's been on his mind for a while. He cannot understand why the farmer is always shouting at him and the other donkeys on Donkey Farm, and why the farmer asks them why they are all so stubborn. Donk approaches everyone in his family, one by one, asking them to help him with his burning question. But his search is all in vain and poor Donk ends up none the wiser. Everybody seems too busy to explain properly and they all give him exactly the same answer. Apparently, that's "just the way it is".Feeling frustrated and dissatisfied with everybody's identical (and quite frankly, very unhelpful!) answers, Donk takes a walk by himself by the stream. He is deep in thought when suddenly, he gets the surprise of his life! Jack the purple fairy donkey, the very same one whom his mother has told him about, the wisest donkey in the whole land, is standing right there in front of him! What will happen next? Will Jack be able to help Donk? Could he be the one to finally give him the answer to the question that nobody else can help him with? This charming story explains to children in a relatable way how negative labels are sometimes attached to those who don't deserve them. Children are encouraged to question what they hear and to make their own decisions, rather than just blindly following the crowd and adopting certain beliefs because "that's what everybody says", or "that's just the way it is".The value of this story lies in the important lessons it teaches young children - to keep an open mind and to keep searching for answers to their questions. It validates their need to be listened to and encourages them to speak up about things that are bothering them. It also encourages children not to give up when adults seem too preoccupied to help them, but to keep trying until they find someone who is willing to listen to them and to help them out with their problems. This story holds great appeal for children all over the world because Donk is a relatable character who, like them, has many questions that he urgently needs answers to! This delightful donkey experiences the same feelings of confusion, loneliness and frustration that we do all at times, but the happy ending at the end of the story serves as a beacon of hope for any child who has ever wondered, "But why?"

A Donkey Is Not Stupid A Donkey Can Think written by Pieter Ernst Smith and has been published by Strategic Book Publishing this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2011 with Juvenile Fiction categories.

The new children's book A Donkey Is Not Stupid honors the donkey, which is an important part of life in the northwestern parts of South Africa, where author Pieter Ernst Smith was born. A little black boy named Thabo does not treat his donkey well. He and his donkey became equally stubborn in teaching each other a lesson. In the end, Thabo realizes how much his donkey means to him. He changes his ways and treats his donkey well. Then they became best friends. Apart from guiding kids on how to treat animals, I also want to tell people what a remarkable animal a donkey actually is, and to correct some misconceptions about donkeys, Smith says. I grew up on a farm in South Africa. The workers on the farm were allowed to have donkeys. Most of them treated their donkeys well, but there were always the ones who ill treated and sometimes abused their donkeys (and other animals). The author believes that donkeys are sensitive and intelligent animals, as well as good companions. The story is nicely embedded in the rural black culture in South Africa. First-time author Pieter Ernst Smith worked for the South African Broadcasting Corporation. He then taught English in South Korea, and is now an estate agent in Johannesburg, South Africa. He wrote this book to show his respect for the animals. In Upington in South Africa, there is a statue in honor of the great contribution of donkeys in the region. He has written the next book in this series. Publisher's website: http: //www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/title/ADonkeyIsNotStupid.htm

Travels With My Donkey written by Tim Moore and has been published by St. Martin's Press this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2014-05-06 with Humor categories.

"'A donkey?' blurted my family as one. For a moment it didn't seem they'd ever be able to list all the reasons that made this so entertainingly ludicrous. . . .Yes, I'd never ridden a donkey on a beach or petted one at a city farm, never even pinned a cardboard tail to one's throat after the cake and ice cream....A donkey would be my hairy-coated hair shirt, making my pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela a truer test of the will, a trial." With these words, having no knowledge of Spanish and even less about the care and feeding of donkeys, Tim Moore, Britain's indefatigable traveling Everyman, sets out on a pilgrimage to the cathedral at Santiago de Compostela with a donkey named Shinto as his companion. Armed only with the Codex Calixtinus, a twelfth-century handbook to the route, and expert advice on donkey management from Robert Louis Stevenson, Moore and his four-legged companion travel the ancient five-hundred-mile route from St. Jean Pied-de-Port, on the French side of the Pyrenees, to the cathedral at Santiago de Compostela, which houses the remains of Spain's patron saint, St. James. Over sun-scorched highways, precipitous bridges, dirt paths shaded by leafy trees, and vineyards occasionally lashed by downpours, Moore and Shinto pass through some of the oldest towns and cities in northern Spain in colorful company, both past and present. Pilgrims real and imagined have traveled this route throughout the ages, a diverse cast of wayfarers spanning Charlemagne, St. Francis of Assisi, Chaucer's Wife of Bath, and New Age diva, Shirley MacLaine. Moore's present-day companions are no less florid or poignant. Clearly more interested in Shinto than in Moore, their fellow walkers are an assortment of devout Christian pilgrims, New Age spirituality seekers, travelers grieving over a lost love affair, Baby Boomers contemplating the advent of middle age, and John Q. Public just out for a cheap, boozy sun-drenched outdoor holiday. As Moore pushes, pulls, wheedles, cajoles, and threatens Shinto across Spain toward the crypt of St. James in a quest to find the spiritual pilgrim within, the duo overnights in the bedrooms, dormitories, and---for Shinto---adjacent grassy fields of northern Spain's hostels, inns, convents, seminaries, and farmhouses. Shinto, a donkey with a finely honed talent for relieving himself at the most inopportune moments, has better luck in the search for his next meal than Moore does in finding his inner St. Francis. Undaunted, however, Man and Beast finally arrive at the cathedral and a successful end to their journey. For readers who delighted in his earlier books, Travels with My Donkey is the next hilarious chapter in the travels of Tim Moore, a book that keeps the bones of St. James rattling till this day.
