In the third book of F. T. Bradley's spy adventure series that ALA Booklist calls "hilarious" and "authentic," troublemaker Linc Baker must infiltrate the set of a Hollywood blockbuster in order to stop a terrorist's plan for worldwide destruction. After his last mission, Linc thought his undercover junior agent days were behind him and tons of boring studying ahead of him. But when supersecret government agency Pandora wants your help, you don't exactly have a choice. Sinister criminal Ethan Melais is on the loose in Tinseltown, and it's up to Linc to find him. But while he's on the job, Linc is snagged by a famous director to star in a movie. Add "trying to impress the cute Hollywood starlet Savannah Stone" to Linc's to-do list and this mission has suddenly become more complicated. As always, Linc's look-alike agent nemesis, Ben Green, is hot on Linc's heels, and time is running out. Can Linc nab the thief, charm Savannah, and beat Ben at his own game?

The desire to preserve to future ages the memory of past achievements is a universal human instinct, as witness the clay tablets of old Chaldea, the hieroglyphs of the obelisks, our countless thousands of manuscripts and printed volumes, and the gossiping old story-teller of the village or the backwoods cabin. The reliability of the record depends chiefly on the truthfulness of the recorder and the adequacy of the method employed. In Asia, the cradle of civilization, authentic history goes back thousands of years; in Europe the record begins much later, while in America the aboriginal narrative, which may be considered as fairly authentic, is all comprised within a thousand years. The peculiar and elaborate systems by means of which the more cultivated ancient nations of the south recorded their histories are too well known to students to need more than a passing notice here. It was known that our own tribes had various ways of depicting their mythology, their totems, or isolated facts in the life of the individual or nation, but it is only within a few years that it was even suspected that they could have anything like continuous historical records, even in embryo. The fact is now established, however, that pictographic records covering periods of from sixty to perhaps two hundred years or more do, or did, exist among several tribes, and it is entirely probable that every leading mother tribe had such a record of its origin and wanderings, the pictured narrative being compiled by the priests and preserved with sacred care through all the shifting vicissitudes of savage life until lost or destroyed in the ruin that overwhelmed the native governments at the coming of the white man. Several such histories are now known, and as the aboriginal field is still but partially explored, others may yet come to light.

In the second book of the action-packed Double Vision series, ordinary twelve-year-old Linc Baker must go undercover in Washington, DC, to stop a CIA mole from assassinating the president. With an unforgettably funny voice, high-stakes espionage, and real American spy history dating back to the Revolutionary War, this is the latest adventure in the Double Vision series that ALA Booklist says "fans of Alex Rider and 39 Clues will love." After the government receives a threat on the president's life from someone named Dagger, supersecret spy agency Pandora wants Linc to go to Washington, DC, to protect the first daughter, Amy, and find the dangerous double of George Washington's legendary coat, rumored to make its wearer invincible. Unfortunately for Linc, his by-the-book agent nemesis, Ben Green, is already on the case and making him look bad. With Amy's help, Linc will have to dig deep into the history of America's first spies—the Culper Ring—to beat Ben at his own game and stop Dagger before it's too late.
