Originally published in 1928, this 1961 printing has been edited to reflect the changes in taste and interest that transpired between 1928 & 1961. A number of chapters have been combined; several, covered in other books, have been dropped; two, The Pen Combined with Other Mediums and Pen and Ink in Illustration, have been entirely rewritten; and a short concluding chapter has been added.
