The Jakarta Geopolitical Forum VI 2022 hosted by Lemhannas RI (The National Resilence Institute of the Republic of Indonesia) on 24-25 August 2022 specified to focus on geopolitical matters as the implementation of critical thinking and the development of new ideas and strategic thinking which are the annual routine of The The National Resilence Institute of the Republic of Indonesia based on its main tasks and functions as The School of Geopolitics. The Security game power and global economic powerhouse in on-going hegemonic transition will have an impact on possible changes in the international order. Maritime will be the dominant competition arena, with dynaics that are challenging to take into account. The challenge of maintaining the status-quo and revival of revisionist will arise when the use of force in maritime power will include the struggle for the sake of resources and technology for power. Defeating the multipolar forces is inevitable which causes hegemony to be unable to build global stability. Furthermore, the recasting of global order in the era of strategic reality has implications far beyond the power-shift by the rise of China and the fall of the United States (The US) supremacy. Based on that, the theme of JGF VI/2022 is "Geo Maritime: Chasing the Future of Global Stability." The purposes of the theme are to understand are to understand the cotemporary geo-maritime context that emerge power to upcoming geopolitical issues, to explore the maritime-based geopolitics and its global impact. Whereas the objectives is to structure a design of relations among geopolitical actors in achieving a balancing that comes to the global stability.

We are delighted to introduce the proceedings of the first International Conference on Social-Humanities in Maritime and Border Area (SHIMBA) 2022. This conference has brought researchers, developers and practitioners around the world who are interested in issues around maritime and border area. smart grid technology for a smarter and more resilient grid. The theme of SHIMBA 2022 was “Acceleration Strategy for Maritime and Border Area”. The technical program of SHIMBA 2022 consisted of 32 full papers. The conference clusters were: Cluster 1 - Acceleration Strategy for Public Administration and Governance; Cluster 2 - Acceleration Strategy for Sociology and Culture; and Cluster 3 - Acceleration Strategy for Law and International Relations. Alverdian explores how a distinct national character of maritime governance has influenced the nature of Indonesia's aspiration to go beyond archipelagic towards a maritime nation, through focusing on the intersection between the nation's political culture, historical changes and geopolitical contexts, which gave rise to the primacy of the theme of unity in the nation's discourse. The main theme of this research is the three-pillar framework of the Tanah-Air concept, which includes the political culture of persatuan nasional (national unity), the strategic culture of cakra manggilingan (turning of the times from dark to golden periods), and the geopolitical context of posisi silang dunia (world crossroad position). The findings of this publication indicate the dominant influence of Javanese political culture, philosophy, values, and traditions on the distinct character of Indonesia’s maritime orientation. Specifically, Javanese political philosophy and traditions within each pillar of Tanah-Air have influenced continuity rather than change in the evolution of Indonesia’s maritime policy. This book helps readers understand how the defining theme of unity in national political culture has shaped the evolution of Indonesia’s maritime policy from 1945 to 2019. It illustrates how the continuous influence of the theme of national unity as devised by the political elites through history has addressed the realities of the archipelago’s geography, and it is significant from both an academic and practical policy perspective.
