In presenting the subject of design, a full discussion of the parts of the machines is first taken up, followed by complete demonstrations of design problems. The subject of armature windings receives special attention. Numerous winding diagrams are provided, indicating clearly the relative positions of the coils, pole pieces, and commu tator bars.
