Physics Experiments With Arduino And Smartphones written by Giovanni Organtini and has been published by Springer Nature this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2021-10-06 with Technology & Engineering categories.

This book on the use of Arduino and Smartphones in physics experiments, with a focus on mechanics, introduces various techniques by way of examples. The main aim is to teach students how to take meaningful measurements and how to interpret them. Each topic is introduced by an experiment. Those at the beginning of the book are rather simple to build and analyze. As the lessons proceed, the experiments become more refined and new techniques are introduced. Rather than providing recipes to be adopted while taking measurements, the need for new concepts is raised by observing the results of an experiment. A formal justification is given only after a concept has been introduced experimentally. The discussion extends beyond the taking of measurements to their meaning in terms of physics, the importance of what is learned from the laws that are derived, and their limits. Stress is placed on the importance of careful design of experiments as to reduce systematic errors and on good practices to avoid common mistakes. Data are always analyzed using computer software. C-like structures are introduced in teaching how to program Arduino, while data collection and analysis is done using Python. Several methods of graphical representation of data are used.

Nearly fill the dish with water, and place it near a window in bright sunlight. Put the piece of looking-glass in the water in an inclined position, so that a beam of sunlight after passing in an inclined direction through the water will be reflected by the mirror, forming an image on the wall. Obs. the image on the wall, and name all the colors seen. Call this colored band the solar spectrum. What is the effect of the water on the beam of light? What is the effect on the mirror? Can you explain how the solar spectrum is formed? Compare the colors of the solar spectrum with the colors of the rainbow. When is a rainbow to be seen? Read about the formation of the rainbow. gravity. experiment 72. illustration. direction. Apparatus. A stone, a piece of wood, a string. a. Hold a heavy stone several feet from the ground. Obs. the effect on the hand. Let go of the stone. Obs. what happens. b. Tie a small piece of lead to one end of a string and hold the other end in the hand. Call this a plumb-line. Obs. the direction of the string. What causes the action of the stone? Call this force gravity. What force acts on the string? What is the direction of this force? What use is made of the plumbline? Give another name for this line. In how many places on the surface of the earth might this experiment be taken with a similar result? Science certainly does not need to be complicated formulas, heavy text books and geeky guys in white lab coats with thick glasses. Science can be really simple and is actually only about understanding the world you live in! Science experiments are an awesome part of science that allows you to engage in cool and exciting hands on learning experiences that you are sure to enjoy and remember! By working through the science projects in this book, you will learn about science in the best possible way – getting your hands dirty & doing things yourself! Specially chosen to appeal to kids in grade 7, each experiment answers a particular question about a specific category of science and includes an introduction, list of the materials you need, easy-to-follow steps, an explanation of what the experiment demonstrates as well as a learn more and science glossary section! Each of these easy-to-understand sections helps explain the underlying scientific concepts to kids and will inspire them to create their own related experiments and aid in developing an inquisitive mind. Amongst many others, you will use iodine to test for the presence of starch in foods to understand how chemical analysis works, make a ‘Berlese’ funnel to catch soil-burrowing insects, make a depth indicator similar to the gauges used on ships, and make an electrical light bulb to learn about the resistance in electrical conduits! Other fun experiments include using chromatography to predict the ‘fall’ colour of a green leaf tree, make your own barometer to measure the air pressure and predict the weather, study what effect high or low temperatures have on a magnet, build your own rain alarm and many, many more! The 40 projects contained in this science experiment e-book cover a wide range of scientific topics; from Chemistry and Electricity to Life Sciences and Physics… there are even experiments on earth science, astronomy and geology all designed for young students in grade 7! With this book, you are sure to find a project that interests you. When you are interested in a certain science topic, you will have more fun, and learn more, too! Designed with safety in mind, most of the items you will need for the experiments, such as jars, aluminium foil, scissors and sticky tape, you can find around your home. Others, such as magnets, lenses or a compass, you will be able to buy quite cheaply at a hobby shop or hardware store.

Experiments And Video Analysis In Classical Mechanics written by Vitor L. B. de Jesus and has been published by Springer this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2017-03-24 with Science categories.

This book is an experimental physics textbook on classical mechanics focusing on the development of experimental skills by means of discussion of different aspects of the experimental setup and the assessment of common issues such as accuracy and graphical representation. The most important topics of an experimental physics course on mechanics are covered and the main concepts are explored in detail. Each chapter didactically connects the experiment and the theoretical models available to explain it. Real data from the proposed experiments are presented and a clear discussion over the theoretical models is given. Special attention is also dedicated to the experimental uncertainty of measurements and graphical representation of the results. In many of the experiments, the application of video analysis is proposed and compared with traditional methods.
