The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on business and society has been significant, with the incorporation of AI technologies such as robots, facial recognition, algorithms, and natural language processing into business leading to both corporate benefits and potential challenges for stakeholders. The question of how to engage in responsible business practices in the era of AI is an important one, and there is a need for more research on the relationship between AI and corporate social responsibility (CSR). As AI becomes more prevalent, there is a growing focus on the ethical implications of AI and the potential for AI to perpetuate biases or to displace human workers. CSR initiatives can include considerations of ethical AI in the development and use of AI systems. AI has the potential to solve many global challenges and improve people's lives, but it can also have negative consequences if not developed and used responsibly. CSR initiatives can focus on the social impact of AI,including efforts to ensure that the benefits of AI are distributed fairly and that AI is used for the common good. CSR initiatives often involve engaging with stakeholders, including employees, customers, and communities, to understand their needs and concerns and to ensure that their interests are taken into account. This can include engaging with stakeholders about the use of AI in the organization and its potential impacts The adoption of AI in business is changing many aspects of doing business in a socially responsible manner, and there is a need to examine the potential unethical behaviors and novel ways of engaging in CSR that may arise. This book aims to focus on AI and CSR, and to advance our understanding of the role of AI in organizations and the literature on CSR by assembling high-quality papers with a strong connection between theory and practice.

About This Book: Knowledge loss forced organizations to develop knowledge capture programs. Yet captured knowledge proved deficient in quality, due in part to lack of integration of quality management throughout the capture process. This book presents the outcome of a case study that explored the impact of integrating quality management into the tacit knowledgecapture process. The study framed around Polanyis theory of tacit knowing proves the perfect management companion. From a social perspective, implementation of a model that encompasses personality and quality could improve the decision-making process. Book Review: This book presents the outcome of a case study investigation of quality problems associated with learning tacit knowledge. Using qualitative methods, Dr. Dzekashu finds through the study that focusing on human development needs and quality control in knowledge transmittal mitigates quality degradation issues associated with transmitting tacit knowledge. These findings provide important implications for managers seeking to maintain critical and quality mass of organizational knowledge in the face of a rapidly aging workforce. Hermann A. Rapid technological changes and availability of news anywhere and at any moment have changed how people seek out news. Increasingly, consumers no longer take deliberate actions to read the news, instead stumbling upon news online. While the emergence of serendipitous news discovery online has been recognized in the literature, there is a limited understanding about how people experience this behavior. Based on the mixed method study that investigated online news reading behavior of residents in a Midwestern U.S. town, we explore how people accidentally discover news when engaged in various online activities. Employing the grounded theory approach, we define Incidental Exposure to Online News (IEON) as individual's memorable experiences of chance encounters with interesting, useful, or surprising news while using the Internet for news browsing or for non-news-related online activities, such as checking email or visiting social networking sites. The book presents a conceptual framework of IEON that advances research and an understanding of serendipitous news discovery from people's holistic experiences of news consumption in their everyday lives. The proposed IEON Process Model identifies key steps in an IEON experience that could help news reporters and developers of online news platforms create innovative storytelling and design strategies to catch consumers' attention during their online activities. Finally, this book raises important methodological questions for further investigation: how should serendipitous news discovery be studied, measured, and observed, and what are the essential elements that differentiate this behavior from other types of online news consumption and information behaviors?
