Growing up poor on New Chicago’s meanest streets, Ava Sans had two options: be the predator or be the prey. No contest. Now, working for Alien Investigation and Removal, she’s been ordered to capture the biggest, baddest warrior of all—a vampire too beautiful to be real, with the abilityto manipulate time. Once the leader of the entire vampire army, McKell has been deemed savage and unstable, spurned even by his own kind. To McKell, humans should be nothing more than sustenance. Yet the petite, golden-skinned Ava is a fascinating contradiction—vicious yet witty, strong yet vulnerable, lethal but fiercely loyal. Against his better judgment, McKell craves that loyalty, and much more. When the chase leads to seduction, McKell and Ava will race to discover the truth about his past. But the answers will come at a price, even for a woman who thought she had nothing left to lose...

The year following my diagnosis of breast cancer, having a total mastectomy and chemotherapy, I felt as if I was out at sea in the midst of a storm. The faster I ran from the darkness and turmoil the closer it came. I was frightened but learned to depend on the energy of the Universe. Accepting my new body image was very difficult. Due to my insecurities, low self-esteem and self-confidence I placed my marriage in jeporady.I had to learn to trust in the positive energy of the Universe to help me heal. I needed to allow God and His angels to take me in their hands and carry me. Depending on the power of the Universe established inner strength and courage to be a survivor. We have a choice in how we react and respond to situations, the lessons that life presents to us. Learning to let go of certain feeling and situations is difficult but it makes each day more peaceful and comfortable. Everything happens for a reason and it is up to us to learn from the lessons which are presented to us. You can be a survivor when you accept that being a survivor is a state of mind which is dictated by you and not others. I realized that guilt and shame are wasted energy, and I was loved and can love others. Everyone's path in recovery and rediscovery will be different. We cannot compare oursleves to others. We are individuals with different childhood experiences, different backgrounds, personalities and with different suppport systems. I hope that "Journey to New Beginnings" gives you a sense of comfort and hope. Each year will be another path of learning, experiencing the joys of living and life - enjoying the extraordinary in the ordinary.

D. H. Lawrence's "The Greatest Works of D. H. Lawrence" compiles the most significant pieces from one of the early 20th century's most provocative literary figures. This collection showcases Lawrence's distinctive style, characterized by his lyrical prose and rich symbolism, delving deep into the complexities of human relationships, sexuality, and the tension between modernity and nature. Readers will encounter seminal works such as "Sons and Lovers," "Women in Love," and "Lady Chatterley's Lover," each reflecting his search for authenticity and understanding of the human psyche against the backdrop of an evolving socio-cultural landscape. Lawrence's innovative approaches to narrative structure and character development situate him within the modernist movement while simultaneously challenging its boundaries. D.H. Lawrence (1885-1930) emerged from the industrial heartland of England, a background that profoundly influenced his exploration of the struggles between the individual and societal constraints. His experiences as a coal miner's son, coupled with his passionate convictions about love and nature, prompted him to write works that interrogate the human condition. Lawrence's work often faced censorship and controversy, yet it remains vital for its fierce advocacy of emotional honesty and sensuality. For readers seeking a profound exploration of existential themes through the lens of eroticism and the spirit of rebellion, "The Greatest Works of D. H. Lawrence" is essential. This collection not only celebrates Lawrence's literary genius but also invites contemporary readers to engage with his thought-provoking insights into humanity's innermost yearnings and conflicts.
