Eleştiri kuramları, edebiyatın mahiyetinin anlaşılmasında ve edebî metin tahlilinde çok önemli bir işleve sahiptir. Edebî metnin doğuşu, yapısı, etkisi gibi hususlar eleştiri kuramlarının üzerinde durduğu belli başlı konulardır. Öte yandan bir metnin daha iyi anlaşılmasında ve estetik değerinin ortaya konmasında eleştiri kuramlarının varlığına ihtiyaç duyulur. Eleştiri kuramları, metinleri tek boyutlu tahlil etme yerine farklı bakış açıları ve estetik kriterleri öne çıkararak değerlendirmeyi olanaklı hale getirir. Bu bağlamda eleştiri kuramlarından faydalanarak metin tahlillerine yönelmek edebiyat araştırmacısına büyük bir kolaylık sağlar ve değerlendirmenin daha sağlıklı gerçekleşmesine katkıda bulunur. Bu çalışma, eleştiri kuramları hakkında genel bir bilgiye sahip olmak ve eleştiri kuramlarından yararlanarak metin tahlilinin nasıl gerçekleştirildiğini göstermek amacıyla kaleme alındı. Her biri alanında uzman olan hocalarımızın katkısıyla eleştiri kuramları ile metin tahlillerini aynı eserde bir araya getirdik. Her bölümde bir eleştiri kuramını anlattık ve eleştiri kuramından hareketle metin tahliline giriştik. Bu şekilde eleştiri kuramının hem tarihsel gelişimini, özelliklerini ve felsefesini hem de eleştiri kuramından hareketle ortaya konan metin tahlilini aynı yerde göstermeye çalıştık. Üniversitelerin Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı, Yabancı Diller ve Türkçe Eğitimi bölümlerinin lisans ve lisansüstü programlarında yer alan metin tahlilleri dersleri, edebiyat araştırmacısının edebî metni doğru bir şekilde analiz etmesine ve edebî metnin estetik değerini anlamasına yardımcı olur. Saussure's Cours de linguistique gnrale has been one of the seminal books of the twentieth century, having shaped modern linguistics and semiology, and having importantly affected anthropology, philosophy and literary studies. Yet the book was written by Saussure's colleagues, based on student notes taken during the three occasions when Saussure gave his lectures on general linguistics. For Saussure's first course, the notebooks of Albert Riedlinger are certainly the best and the most detailed. They have loomed large in our knowledge of Saussurean linguistics, but a number of Saussure's statements, as recorded by Riedlinger, have never been known to a larger public. Until now, those notes themselves have been unavailable, except in fragmented and incomplete form in Engler's unwieldy and hard-to-find edition of the Cours. Now, the best of the student notes to all three courses will be available for the first time as they were taken down in French, and have been provided with a facing translation, an introduction, and a full analytical index of terminology. With their publication, Saussurean scholars as well as students of linguistics and related disciplines will have at their disposal the most reliable source material for Saussure's thinking on language.
