„Editie revazuta este o addenda la Harmonia cælestis, celebrul roman al lui Peter Esterhazy. In ianuarie 2000, la cateva zile dupa ce autorul finalizeaza manuscrisul romanului Harmonia cælestis, in care aducea un omagiu, printre altele, Tatalui, Matyas Esterhazy, afla intamplator ca acesta fusese agent al politiei politice din Ungaria. Peter Esterhazy considera ca e datoria lui morala sa prezinte cititorului si aceasta fateta a tatalui sau — si astfel, in 30 ianuarie 2000, incepe sa scrie un jurnal mai special, care va deveni apoi textul cartii Editie revazuta. Acest jurnal tine pana in aprilie 2002, perioada in care autorul citeste, fila cu fila, cele patru dosare aflate in arhivele Oficiului National de Istorie Contemporana din Ungaria (omologul CNSAS din Romania), dosare ce contin notele informative scrise de tatal sau, evaluarile ofiterilor de legatura, observatiile, sarcinile emise de politia politica, alte documente. Metaforic vorbind, Peter Esterhazy isi face o operatie pe cord deschis; nu intamplator, pasajele din aceste dosare, redate ad litteram, sunt scrise cu litere rosii, (parca) insangerate, insotite fiind de comentariile autorului scrise cu litere negre, (parca) cernite. Editie revazuta este o carte de o sinceritate uluitoare, cum rar se poate citi, o carte dureroasa, o carte a confruntarii dintre un fiu si tatal sau pe parcursul dezvaluirii istoriei unei tradari, o carte despre natura sistemului comunist, despre insingurarea si suferinta umana, cu toate nuantele posibile si imposibile — o carte care se citeste cu sufletul la gura.“ – Anamaria Pop Peter Esterhazy (nascut in 1950, la Budapesta, intr-una dintre cele mai vechi si renumite familii aristocratice maghiare) este, probabil, scriitorul ungur cel mai cunoscut si apreciat pe plan international in momentul de fata, una dintre vocile si constiintele literare definitorii pentru problematica spatiului central si est-european contemporan. A urmat initial studii de matematica la universitatea din orasul natal si a lucrat ca matematician intre 1974 si 1978; a debutat in 1978, in gazete literare, iar din 1978 s-a dedicat in intregime scrisului. Este autorul unei opere vaste, ce cuprinde romane, nuvele, piese de teatru, eseuri, studii, publicistica, traduse in douazeci si cinci de limbi si incununate cu numeroase distinctii nationale (printre care prestigiosul premiu Kossuth, in 1996) si internationale (Herder, in 2002, Grinzane Cavour, in 2004, Premiul Pacii al Uniunii Editorilor si Librarilor din Germania, in 2004, Premiul de Excelenta al Institutului Cultural Roman, Premiul Grinzane-Beppe Fenoglio din Italia, in 2007 s.a.). Printre operele sale cele mai cunoscute se numara Harmonia cælestis, Verbele auxiliare ale inimii, Cartea lui Hrabal, Privirea contesei Hahn-Hahn, Putina curvasarie maghiara, O femeie, Nicio arta.

From the interwar period until the end of the Second World War, Romania was in a kind of geopolitical labyrinth, in which it seemed to have multiple possibilities, but they all went in the same direction: the alliance with Germany at the beginning of the Second World War, the act of August 23, 1944 as it stood, and the status subsequently established by the Treaty of Paris. Throughout this period, the Romanian Army played a major role through its leaders and the sacrifice of the Romanian soldiers, and the act of August 23, 1944 was a legitimate and legal act, in which King Mihai I and the Army were the main decision makers. After a presentation of the context of Romania's entry into the Second World War, follows the description of Romania's evolution during the war, with emphasis on the attempts to conclude an armistice with the Western Allies and the role of the Army during this period. The act of August 23, 1944 is then detailed separately, highlighting the diversity of opinions on this event.
