O livro Educação Permanente em Saúde: revisitando a trajetória e os desafios atuais para a interface formação, atenção, gestão e participação aborda a importância da educação permanente ser trabalhada e compreendida como política pública estabelecida, literalmente, principalmente no ensino e, consequentemente, nos serviços de atenção básica, que são a porta de entrada do sistema de saúde vigente e onde as relações, interrogações e práticas de saúde acontecem, estabelecendo as diferentes necessidades em saúde de cada território, possibilitando ao graduando (re)significar seu aprendizado, percebendo a importância de cada vértice dentro desta grande engrenagem que é o SUS. Nesse sentido, a obra traz, em um contexto político pedagógico, a percepção dos formandos em enfermagem de instituições de ensino público e privado do extremo sul do Brasil a respeito da educação permanente em saúde e seus quatro vértices dentro da atenção básica. A todo o momento, a autora traz os referenciais da implementação da EPS no país para dialogar com os achados do trabalho, evidenciando a importância de consolidação, na prática, dessa ferramenta pedagógica, pois trata-se de uma política pública efetiva e que consta no currículo de enfermagem, nas diretrizes curriculares, nos estágios dentro da atenção básica, potencializando o trabalho do enfermeiro e, por conseguinte, o processo de trabalho dentro do território. A obra está destinada a todos os profissionais e estudantes da enfermagem e da saúde em geral, além dos gestores e lideranças sociais. Traz reflexões e possibilidades de debate em relação aos currículos, ao alinhamento teórico-prático, à problematização, além do processo de trabalho do enfermeiro com educação permanente em saúde, dentro da atenção primária. Os resultados evidenciaram uma prática ainda distante do preconizado e que, por consequência, trouxe incertezas, confusão sobre a Educação Permanente em Saúde e seus processos, queda na qualidade do ensino para esta temática, marcando um desalinhamento teórico-prático, além da reprodução passiva de conhecimentos por parte do graduando, tanto para profissionais quanto para usuários, nos campos de práticas, fazendo com que o aluno não usufrua de todas as possibilidades na íntegra do SUS, enquanto escola.

The East in the West reassesses Western views of Asia. Traditionally many European historians and theorists have seen the societies of the East as 'static' or 'backward'. Jack Goody challenges these assumptions, beginning with the notion of a special Western rationality which enabled 'us' and not 'them' to modernise. He then turns to book-keeping, which several social and economic historians have seen as intrinsic to capitalism, arguing that there was in fact little difference between East and West in terms of mercantile activity. Other factors said to inhibit the East's development, such as the family and forms of labour, have also been greatly exaggerated. This Eurocentrism both fails to explain the current achievements of the East, and misunderstands Western history. The East in the West starts to redress the balance, and so marks a fundamental shift in our view of Western and Eastern history and society.
