Con este libro preténdese que o alumnado chegue a apreciar o feito artístico, a aplicar correctamente diversas técnicas e a desenvolver destrezas que favorezan e amplíen a capacidade expresiva. Comézase tomando contacto coa imaxe e a súa importancia no mundo actual e repasando os elementos da linguaxe visual que xa se estudaron. Seguidamente, ensínase a combinar estes elementos para compoñer imaxes de forma equilibrada e harmónica. Coas unidades de "Xeometría Plana" e "Sistemas de Representación", aprenderanse diversas construcións xeométricas como recursos que axudarán ao alumnado a elaborar tanto imaxes artísticas como técnicas. Tamén se darán a coñecer dúas formas de contar historias: por medio de imaxes secuenciadas (cómic e fotonovela) e de imaxes en movemento (cine), que tiveron a súa orixe na fotografía. Cada Unidade didáctica vai acompañada dunha serie de actividades que se realizarán nun caderno. Para facilitar o estudo e comprender mellor os contidos, cada Unidade didáctica vai acompañada tamén dun Mapa Conceptual e dun Resumo das ideas principais que deben ter máis claras. Tamén inclúe un Glosario coa explicación daqueles termos que resulten descoñecidos. Como complemento, en cada unidade fálase dun movemento artístico relacionado cos conceptos estudados na mesma, o que permitirá ter unha visión xeral da Arte a través dalgunhas das súas tendencias.
