Eeg The Epilepsies written by Philippe Gélisse and has been published by John Libbey Eurotext this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2019-07-04 with Medical categories.

Fully revised and updated, this second edition of the second volume of the Atlases of electroencephalography series includes more than 2/3 new high-quality digital figures. A new Classification approach to epileptic seizures and to the epilepsies became official in 2017. Several aspects in terms of terminology have been included in this book and most of the chapters have been rewritten. The second volume of this series on the practical use and interpretation of EEG focuses on epilepsies in their diversity. It is richly illustrated, and each EEG plate is analyzed in order to highlight the most significant elements to be used both for the diagnosis and interpretation. The originality of this textbook lies in its patient-based approach, thereby avoiding the pitfall of a formal presentation of EEG documents without their clinical context. Hence electroencephalography is placed at the core of the diagnostic and therapeutic discussion concerning patients with epilepsy. Given the practical orientation of this Atlas, the focus is on common forms of epilepsies; nevertheless, some less common, more intriguing forms have also been illustrated. A synthetic text summarizes the present approach to the main epilepsy categories. This Atlas is designed for all the actors who may be involved with patients with epilepsy. Physicians who deal with EEG will find it a valuable tool to improve the education of their early years, to help them with their interpretations later on, and for teaching purposes when more experienced. But it will also prove useful for all the physicians interested in epilepsy, as well as EEG technologists intent on providing quality recordings, and other professionals. Thorough understanding of human epilepsies requires extensive knowledge of their EEG correlates.

"Electroencephalography (EEG) is an invaluable tool for evaluating patients with suspected seizures or encephalopathy, yet EEG is only one source of data, so information from this technology must be integrated with knowledge of basic science and clinical neurology. This work has a principal focus on EEG, but interleaves that discussion with information on seizures, epilepsy, encephalopathy, and other neurologic conditions for which EEG can be a useful diagnostic tool"--

Synchronization Of Eeg Activity In Epilepsies written by Hellmuth Petsche and has been published by Springer Science & Business Media this book supported file pdf, txt, epub, kindle and other format this book has been release on 2012-12-06 with Medical categories.

The onset of an epileptic seizure has become a matter of prime interest in the last two decades. For successful therapy it is of the greatest importance to understand how the different inhibitory mechanisms involved in the normally functioning brain are carried out, and how the devastating avalanche of the seizure activity may overrun wide areas of grey matter. This problem of how an attack may arise has been dealt with in several monographs, but from different points of view: on the one hand chiefly from the viewpoint of the clinical EEG (GAsTAuT et al. 1969), on the other hand from the viewpoint of experimental epilepsy, starting with the activities observed at the level of the nerve cell (JASPER et al. 1969). This volume has quite a different perspective. It contains the papers and discussions presented at a Symposium organized by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the aim of which was to arrive at a better understanding of some of the electrical phenomena accompanying the epileptic seizure.
