Der Spracherwerb gehört zu den komplexesten Vorgängen in der kindlichen Entwicklung und ist ein faszinierendes psychologisches Forschungsthema. Sprachentwicklungsstörungen zählen zu den häufigsten Entwicklungsauffälligkeiten im Kindesalter - der aktuelle Forschungsstand dokumentiert jedoch bislang nur eine unzureichende Evaluation sprachtherapeutischer Interventionen. Dieser Band beschäftigt sich mit der Frage der Effektivität stationärer gegenüber ambulanter Sprachtherapie für Kinder mit Sprachentwicklungsstörungen. In einer Längsschnittstudie wurden Aussprache, Wortschatz, Grammatikverständnis, kommunikativ-pragmatische Fähigkeiten, Verhalten, gesundheitsbezogene Lebensqualität sowie motorische Leistungen untersucht. Es zeigten sich durch die stationäre Intensivtherapie Fortschritte vor allem hinsichtlich der Aussprache, aber auch bezüglich der kommunikativ-pragmatischen Fertigkeiten, des expressiven Wortschatzes und des Grammatikverständnisses. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse können einen Beitrag zur Entwicklung geeigneter Therapiekonzepte für Kinder mit Sprachentwicklungsstörungen leisten.
