Gabrielle Varro Der Untertitel dieses Bandes könnte lauten: Erfahrungen mit der Handlungs forschung. Der Gegenstand des Buches nämlich ist ein forschungsorientiertes Gruppenprojekt zum Thema Kindererziehung im Kontext der Kulturkontakte in Europa, das im Auftrage des Deutsch-Französischen Jugendwerks initiiert wurde. Das Jugendwerk hatte damals ein neu erschienenes Buch über franko amerikanische Familien in Frankreich und die Zweisprachigkeit ihrer Kinder (Varro, 1984) zum Anlaß genommen, einen seiner fortbildungsorientierten Forschungszyklen einem entsprechenden Forschungsprojekt über deutsch französische Familien zu widmen. Ein siebenköpfiges Leitungsteam und rund dreißig Teilnehmer (nicht alle französischer oder deutscher Nationalität, aber alle in einem der beiden Länder lebend) wurden gemäß den Modalitäten des Jugendwerks ausgewählt.! Von September 1985 bis November 1988 kamen sie in Frankreich oder in Deutschland einige Male zu mehrtägigen Arbeits 2 treffen sowie kleinen Treffen von Untergruppen zusammen. Aus den infor mellen Treffen dieser drei Jahre gingen mehrere Zwischenberichte und ein 3 Abschlußbericht hervor. Der Abschlußbericht wurde dem Auftraggeber En- Nachdem G. Varro mit der Projektleitung beauftragt worden war, schlug das Jugend werk G. Gebauer als deutschen Ko-Projektleiter vor und beauftragte beide mit der Bildung von Projektgruppen in ihrem Land. Die Projektgruppe in Frankreich bestand aus G. Varro, D. Lesbet und F. Morin, in Deutschland aus G. Gebauer, H. Gebauer und, auf Vorschlag des Jugendwerks, S. Heenen-Wolff und W. Knauss. Manche Teil nehmer wurden durch die Projektleiter gewonnen, andere über eine Anzeige in einer Frankfurter Zeitung.
