Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Mit dem Voranschreiten des Mediums Internet und der allgemeinen Vernetzung von Rechnern wird es immer wichtiger für alle Arten von digitalen Daten ein einheitliches, strukturiertes, standardisiertes, aber dennoch flexibles Format für deren Übertragung über Medien- und Plattformgrenzen hinweg bereitzustellen. Diese Aufgabe soll in Zukunft u.a. die Extensible Markup Language (XML) übernehemen. Ihr grundsätzlicher Aufbau sowie Anwendungsmöglichkeiten, insbesondere in Bezug auf die erste native XML-Datenbank Tamino der Software AG Darmstadt, sind Inhalt dieser Diplomarbeit. Bei den Grundlagen von XML werden u.a. ihre Abgrenzung zu SGML und HTML, der logische und physische Aufbau eines XML-Dokuments sowie XML-Parser und Namensräume näher erläutert. Weiterhin werden Referenzmöglichkeiten in XML-Dokumenten und Anfragesprachen für XML-Fragmente dargestellt. Für die Konvertierung von XML-Dokumenten wird auf die Stylesheet-Technologien CSS, XSL und XSLT eingegangen. Die Bedeutung von XML als Basis für ein Datenbank-Management-System (DBMS) wird ab Kapitel 5 erläutert. Hierbei steht die Untersuchung der ersten rein auf XML basierenden Datenbank Tamino der Software AG Darmstadt im Vordergrund sowie deren Unterschiede zu konventionellen Relationalen DBMS mit der Hervorhebung spezifischer Vor- und Nachteile. Zudem wird die Bewertung und Bedeutung von XML und Tamino für Unternehmensanwendungen praktisch anhand eines Content Management-Systems und eines Enterprise Application-Konzepts aufgeführt. Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: Das Thema Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) ist nach eBusiness ein neuer Hype der Softwareindustrie, allerdings mit einer wesentlich erhöhten Komplexität. Diese Ausarbeitung verfolgt dazu, einen entgegen dem Markt üblichen, eigenständigen Ansatz, der aus einem Prototypen und dessen Positionierung mit durchgängiger Dienstleistung besteht. Der Schwerpunkt der Dienstleistung und der verwendeten Technologie, ist die nonintrusive, strukturelle Integration von Systemen und Anwendungen auf der Ebene der Anwendungsschnittstellen mittels nativer C++ bzw. Java-Treiber, was eine, lediglich von der zu integrierenden Anwendung abhängige Projektierung ermöglicht und die bestehenden IT-Strukturen auf niedriger Ebene bereinigt und somit für zukünftige Anforderungen vorbereitet. Den typischen Risiken der Veränderungen von gewachsenen Strukturen wird durch den integrativen Lösungsansatz, unter Zuhilfenahme der bestehenden Leistungsbereiche der „Firma“ begegnet. Es besteht eine hohe Variabilität des Vorgehens mit Standards auf der Metaebene (Modellebene), mit hoher Priorität auf die Einhaltung international vereinbarter Standards, wie XML. Anforderungen an den Leser: Als übergeordnete Methodik wurde Systems Engineering und der prinzipielle Aufbau von Businessplänen genutzt. Die Programmtechnische Detailierung wird auf den im Haupttext dargestellten XML-Codes beschränkt. Somit ist die Thematik auch für Nicht-IT’ler verständlich gehalten. Um der hohen Komplexität Rechnung zu tragen, wurde ein umfangreiches Glossar, das vertiefende und ergänzende Informationen enthält, hinzugefügt. Data is the foundation of the digital economy. Industry 4.0 and digital services are producing so far unknown quantities of data and make new business models possible. Under these circumstances, data quality has become the critical factor for success. This book presents a holistic approach for data quality management and presents ten case studies about this issue. It is intended for practitioners dealing with data quality management and data governance as well as for scientists. The book was written at the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality (CC CDQ) in close cooperation between researchers from the University of St. Gallen and Fraunhofer IML as well as many representatives from more than 20 major corporations. Chapter 1 introduces the role of data in the digitization of business and society and describes the most important business drivers for data quality. It presents the Framework for Corporate Data Quality Management and introduces essential terms and concepts. Chapter 2 presents practical, successful examples of the management of the quality of master data based on ten cases studies that were conducted by the CC CDQ. The case studies cover every aspect of the Framework for Corporate Data Quality Management. Chapter 3 describes selected tools for master data quality management. The three tools have been distinguished through their broad applicability (method for DQM strategy development and DQM maturity assessment) and their high level of innovation (Corporate Data League).
