Mubyarto adalah legenda di Kampus Bulaksumur, baik sosok maupun pemikirannya. Ia dikukuhkan menjadi guru besar di Fakultas Ekonomi UGM pada usia yang sangat muda. Hingga akhir hayatnya, 24 Mei 2005, ia telah menulis ratusan buku dan ribuan karya tulis. Tak akan ada yang membantah bahwa hingga hari ini Mubyarto bisa disebut sebagai guru besar ekonomi paling produktif di Indonesia. Bersama dengan sejumlah karibnya, seperti Hidayat Nataatmadja, M. Dawam Rahardjo, dan Sri-Edi Swasono, sejak 1980 ia menguar gagasan Ekonomi Pancasila, yang kemudian menjadi polemik akbar sepanjang tahun 1981. Puluhan sarjana dan sejumlah Indonesianis terlibat dalam polemik tersebut, yang bisa disebut sebagai polemik paling serius dan paling panjang yang pernah terjadi di lingkungan ilmu sosial (di) Indonesia. Bagaimana sebenarnya pemikiran Mubyarto? Kenapa ia tak menghasilkan banyak pengikut di lingkungan almamaternya? Apa saja kendala yang telah membuat gagasan Mubyarto sulit berkembang?

Beberapa tahun terakhir, Pusat Hidrografi dan Oseanografi TNI Angkatan Laut (Pushidrosal) berikhtiar menjadi Lembaga Hidrografi Nasional dan Pusat Informasi Geospasial Kelautan Terbaik di Dunia. Secara strategis, dengan hidrografi, Pushidrosal bertekad menjadi ujung tombak visi Indonesia sebagai Poros Maritim Dunia. Tugas mulia ini hanya dapat diemban oleh pribadi-pribadi takwa dalam ampuan kepemimpinan yang berorientasi akhirat, yakni kepemimpinan robbani. Keikhlasan menerima takdir Allah Ta’ala serta ikhtiar meraih kemanfaatan yang istiqamah, beriring rasa bersyukur yang terus- menerus, dapat berimplikasi pada kepemimpinan yang kuat. Indonesia dapat tumbuh dan tegak berdiri sebagai bangsa yang kuat, makmur, dan bermartabat dengan religiusitas yang terjaga. Dengan berjamaah, tugas seberat apa pun, tidak lagi terasa berat. Alhamdulillah, kita sedang melakukan ‘syiar’ kebaikan.

This edited volume discusses the development of the new social and impact economy in ten countries around the globe. The new social and impact economy is an attempt to conceptualize developments after the 2008 economic crisis, which emphasized the pifalls of the Neo-Liberal economic system. In the aftermath of the crisis, new organizational entities evolved, which combined social and business objectives as part of their mission. Using data gathered by two recent international research projects—the ICSEM project and the FAB-MOVE project—the book provides an initial portrait of the forces at play in the evolution of the new social and impact economy, linking those to the past crisis as well as to Covid19 and comparing the emergence of the phenomenon in a varied group of countries.
