Después de haber perdido los primeros escritos realizados hace diez años, me veo en el deber de hacerlos de nuevo. De dónde proviene y qué historias pasaron por mi vida como intérprete de boleros desde mi infancia hasta el día de hoy, que describo nuevamente en esta historia de cien boleros, los más nombrados y que hoy todavía pasan por mi memoria lúcida y melancólica, romántica a la vez, para alegrar en parte las almas enamoradas que todavía aman el romance, la ternura y el deseo de sentirse enamorados los que verdaderamente amaron. El bolero en las partes bajas de los países de centro y sur de América, desde Brasil hasta México y el Caribe con sentido afro como el son, algunos se quedan en el montuno porque el tambor está metido en el lamento que significa lejanía -tal vez de su tierra-, de lo que lleva en el corazón. Y realiza un llamado con los cueros que hacen compañía a la melodía y a sus frases poéticas, románticas, que lo van llevando hasta lo más profundo de su alma, combinada con notas musicales que se quedaron para siempre metidas en el romance.
