El discurso analítico es reciente y necesita abrise camino entre los extremos represivos de nuestra cultural. El análisis psicoanalítico sigue todavía en vigencia y puede dar palabra al inconsciente humano. Jacques Lacan mantiene vivo el psicoanálisis y a la vez innova su tradición que nos sitúa en momentos diferentes del deseo y el psiquismo. El punto de partida de los trabajos que componen este libro es la aceptación del hecho de que existe una escritura en la palabra que no es sin lector. Sus 23 autores recorren y formalizan un efecto de la cultura en su cruce con el discurso analítico. Éste es el efecto de la reconsideración de la letra como concepto. Como lo señala Lacan "un objeto que es una letra, pero es un objeto". Este carácter de "entre" otorgado a la letra renueva la comprensión de los campos de la literatura, la música, la pintura y la práctica analítica. Así, en el entrecruzarse de la voz y la mirada, en la escritura del poema, en el emerger de la luz y las sombras en la pintura y de la interpretación de los sueños y el leer en las asociaciones por el analista se hace, se efectúa esta duplicación ordinaria entre lo que se ve y lo que se escucha, entre lo que se escribe y lo que se ve y lo que se escucha, entre lo que se escribe y lo que se habla. Correlación necesaria que hace real la división de algo llamado sujeto, que se resiste a quedar sepultado por el girar incesante del discurso capitalista y por su socia, la ciencia. El orientador general de todos los trabajos es la ética. No como un término formal e ilusorio en los tiempos de la barbarie, sino como el camino a lo real. La única posibilidad de que se capte en qué, el hombre, en tanto habla, está enredado.

Carpentier was one of the first novelists to introduce a version of magical realism and the neo-baroque into Latin American fiction. This study focuses on one of the first novelists to introduce a version of magical realism and the neo-baroque into Latin American fiction. Original research colours eyewitness accounts of Alejo Carpentier's travels through Spainbefore and during the Spanish Civil War and the inspiration that he drew from the Baroque architecture he encountered there. The origins of Carpentier's uniquely 'baroque' style are found in his endeavour to create a period ambience in his historical fictions through descriptions of visual arts and architectural settings, and parodies of the literary style of Spanish Golden Age writers. 'Medusa's gaze' is used as a metaphor for the petrifying power of theBaroque as a weapon of European dominance. By wielding the same weapon in an act of postcolonial defiance, Carpentier enabled a reassertion of Latin American culture, and laid the foundations for the 1960s 'Boom' in the Latin American novel. El presente libro estudia el Teatro Pánico de Fernando Arrabal, un conjunto de textos concebidos durante los primeros años del autor en París, entre 1957 y 1966. Escritas en el momento de mayor auge de la vanguardia, las obras vehiculan una teatralidad radicalmente innovadora cuya piedra angular la constituye el lenguaje ceremonial. La ceremonia pánica que subyace a toda esa dramaturgia es objeto de un profundo análisis a la luz de Le Panique, texto programático del propio Arrabal en que el autor identifica los tres conceptos que desencadenan la creación artística: memoria, azar y confusión. ENGLISH VERSION The Panic Theatre is a set of plays conceived by Fernando Arrabal between1957 and 1966, the author's first years in Paris. Composed at the zenith of the avant-garde movement, they convey a radically new and challenging theatricality whose cornerstone is their ceremonial shape. The plays' underlying panic ceremony is thoroughly studied in light of Arrabal's programmatic text Le Panique, that singles out three key concepts responsible for artistic creation: memory, chance and confusion. This study shows how memory determines the plays' departure from mimesis and how chance articulates the materials recalled from memory into precisely arranged plots. Furthermore, subjects, objects, spatial-temporal frames and words are subject to confusion, inan attempt to create an utterly innovative form of theatre. This group of seemingly heterogeneous plays is given theoretical coherence and consistency by placing the idea of panic at the centre of a great formal experimentation.
