Dentro de un proceso de investigación que realizamos con el apoyo de la Federación Nacional Sindical Unitaria Agropecuaria (Fensuagro) en el departamento del Caquetá, hicimos memoria sobre algunos daños que sufrieron las poblaciones campesinas a causa de las fumigaciones aéreas con glifosato. El informe que se titula “El daño que nos hacen: glifosato y guerra en Caquetá” recoge un ejercicio de memoria histórica a través de las voces de cuatro campesinos sobre el territorio, la presencia de la coca, la guerra y los daños del glifosato en Caquetá. Este informe pretende recordar, en el marco de los procesos ante la Comisión de la Verdad, que bajo las avionetas quedó silenciada la población campesina sobre los daños que causa el glifosato en sus cuerpos y en sus tierras. Por esta razón, el texto cuenta con cuatro relatos escritos en primera persona, tejidos a partir de las observaciones, las entrevistas, los talleres y las conversaciones realizadas durante el trabajo de campo. A partir de las principales conclusiones extraídas de los relatos, el informe da algunas ideas sobre las aspersiones aéreas y su relación con el DIH para pensar las afectaciones como parte de infracciones al derecho internacional humanitario cuyas víctimas deben ser atendidas bajo los estándares del derecho internacional reconocidos por Colombia.

This book presents an analysis tracing the operation of biopolitical mode of power in the global field of drug control. Through a series of theoretically framed investigations that relate current drug control policies to the broader frame of ‘vital politics,’ it attends to the relationship of drug control, democracy and authoritarianism and showcases these pressures on the case of the evolution of drug policy in the Czech Republic. Then, it turns attention to the relationship of power and knowledge, with a particular focus on ‘evidence-based’ policy that tends to more often sustain, rather than challenge coercive and punitive drug control policies. Last but not least, it looks at how the global drug control dispositif shapes those lives on one of Europe’s (internal) periphery, the Spanish Southern border. These investigations are intended to illuminate elements of the operation of the drug control dispositif and its far reaching (bio-)political effects in order to maintain and expand the space for thinking political alternatives.

Más de 100.000 personas, entre ellas millares de menores de edad, mueren anualmente debido a sobredosis de fentanilo en los Estados Unidos. Esta sustancia, en sus diferentes presentaciones, encabeza la Lista I que la Convención Única de 1961 sabre Estupefacientes catalogo como estupefacientes "sujetos a todas las medidas de fiscalización". Aunque de otra índole, en Colombia los problemas que ha arrastrado esta lista resultan igualmente inquietantes. En ella se encuentran tanto la cocaína como las hojas de coca, y en las otras dos listas hay fármacos para los que estas medidas no son tan drásticas. Luego de seis décadas bajo el signo de la prohibición, el balance de la política de drogas es negativo desde donde se le mire. más adictos y más victimas incautas que han muerto por sobredosis están asociadas positivamente por el engrosamiento de los carteles cuyos miembros asesinan, deforestan, blanquean millones de dolares ilegales en nuestra economía y corrompen por doquier en defensa de sus ganancias ilegales. La sociedad colombiana, por décadas victima indefensa de la acción deletérea de estas organizaciones criminales, aún padece y contempla a diario la secuela de daños que arrastra el narcotrafico y la lucha que por años ha venido Librando el Estado en su contra, con fútiles resultados pero a unos costos inestimables. En este libro se proponen balances y se sugieren iniciativas de cambio a la política a fin de contener los circuitos perversos de la prohibición, comenzando por proponer un nuevo relato que ya este en boga: coca no es cocaína.

The book summarizes and reviews the environmental and human safety of two classes of nonionic surfactants-alcohol ethoxylates (AE) and alkylphenol ethoxylates (APE). This unique resource contains critical data from published sources as well as from unpublished studies submitted by Soap and Detergent Association member companies. It reviews information on product chemistry and analysis, biodegradation, environmental levels (including fate and distribution), aquatic toxicity, and human safety. Recently developed analytical techniques for the extraction, separation, detection, and measurement of nonionic surfactants and their metabolites in environmental samples are described. Results of biodegradation studies performed with a variety of test systems are tabulated, as are results of field studies at wastewater treatment plants. Reported comparisons of environmental levels with results of acute and chronic aquatic toxicity tests are provided. The information on the toxicity and irritation potential of AE and APE surfactants includes data from in vitro, mammalian, and human studies.
