El presente texto constituye el cuerpo principal de la tesis doctoral del autor, defendida el 24 de junio de 2005 en la Univ. de Salamanca con la calificación Sobresaliente Cum Laude. Se presenta el filtro TRNL (Triple Resonancia No Lineal) como solución a las limitaciones del filtro DRNL (Doble Resonancia No Lineal) y se exploran las características de su respuesta frente a tonos puros y clics. El filtro DRNL (Meddis et al., 2001) se diseñó para simular la acción de filtrado que realiza la membrana basilar. Con él, se ha reproducido satisfactoriamente, entre otros muchos aspectos, el carácter no lineal de la respuesta de la membrana basilar.
